Mary was born on 12 September 1860 at Accomack Co, VA.2 She married Charles Wesley Feddeman, son of George Thomas Feddeman and Mary Elizabeth Massey, on 1 June 1881 at Pocomoke Neck, Acc Co, VA. He was a 21 year old merchant and she was age 20. They were married by R.B. Beadles. His name was spelled "Fedderman" and she was the daughter of E.R. & Amanda Thomas. (However, Edward R. Thomas of Eliza married Mary W. Lewis of Revel in 1853, so its not clear why her mother was shown as Amanda.).3 She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1900 at Atlantic Dist, Acc Co, VA.4 Mary was living at Grotons, Acc Co, VA. Mary died on 19 April 1958 at age 97. According the Down Memories' Lane by Naomi G. Fisher, the passing away of a gracious lady at the ripe old age of 97 years, 7 months & 7 days has brought me strolling down memories' lane thru the extinct village of Dreka, Va, once again. Mrs. C.W. Feddeman was the oldest living resident of Sanford, Va. She passed away on 19 April 1958 at The Harris Convalescent Home at Yeadon, Pa., where she had been an inmate for the past 3 years and 2 weeks. Born Mary Amanda Thomas on 12 Sep 1860, on Flag Pond road at Sanford, Va, the daughter of Captain Edward R. and Mary Lewis Thomas. At an early age she became a member of Pocomoke Methodist Church and was a teacher and worker in that church during all her active life. On 1 June 1881 she became the bride of Charles W. Feddeman and they went to Dreka and established a home and Mr. Feddeman established a business there. Five children were born of this union: George T. Feddeman, Dr. Charles Edward Feddeman, Florence Feddeman Corbin, Celeste Feddeman Walker and Paul Feddeman. Three children preceeded Mrs. Feddeman in death. Mr. C.W. Feddeman died on 10 Feb 1909. Mrs. Feddeman is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Stephen Corbin of Warwick and a son Dr. C.E. Feddeman of Chester, Pa. For 11 years Mrs. Feddeman lived at her home in Dreka until the villiage had disappeared and she was alone, then she built a home in the heart of Sanford in 1920 and was one of its good residents until the death of her daughter Mrs. Celeste Walker in 1955 forced her to enter a nursing home. In tribute shall we say, she was the first lady of the village of Dreka, a kind and gracious person who is greatly missed by her friends in Sanford. The oldest member of Pocomoke Methodist Church which incidently is 100 years old this year of 1958..2,5 Her body was interred at J.W. Taylor Cem, Temperanceville, Acc Co, VA.2

George Henry Bundick (II)'s father died in 1884, a few months after his 12th birthday. He was attending Horntown Methodist Church in 1891 and was baptised there in 1896. He and his wife, Maggie E. Bundick, were both attending Temperanceville Methodist Church in 1897 and she became a member there, by certificate, on 18 Jan 1900 (Downings Church Records). The 1900 Federal census shows this George Bundick as head of household number 357/360 in Atlantic District, aged 27 and a farmer, living on rented land. From the names of the neighbors, he was living in the Temperanceville area. His wife Maggie, born in Maryland, was also 27. They had been married two years, but had no children. His mother, Margaret Bundick was living with them, as were his brothers Calvin and William and sister Rennie Bundick. His 18-year-old sister-in-law, Mary "Dickerson" (Daneker?) was also living with them. On 22 Nov 1906, G.H. Bundick bought 225 acres of upland and 50 acres of marsh, known as the Onley farm, on the seaside near Assawoman, from George A.L. Winder and wife Millie A. for $5,000 (Acc Co Deed Bk 86, p. 363). The land was bordered on the north by T.H. Taylor and wife and S.A. Taylor, east by Bridge Gut, south by S. Wilkins Matthews and west by Nock Road (present-day Arbuckle Neck Road). The Census of 1910 shows George H. Bundick, age 37 and a farmer, and his family, living in household number 143/145, in Atlantic District on Arbuckle Neck Road. His wife Maggie was also 37. They had been married eleven years and had then had seven children, five of whom were living. His mother, Margaret Bundick, aged 56 and a widow, was living with them, as was his deceased brother William R. Bundick's widow, with her 3-year-old son. On 5 Mar 1928, George H. Bundick and wife Mary A. gave a deed to his brother, Calvin T. Bundick, for half his 275 acre tract near Assawoman (Acc Co Deed Bk 134, p. 272). This deed states that George H. Bundick had sold this half to brother, William R. Bundick, but after his death had bought it back and that Calvin T. Bundick had bought it on 20 Dec 1913 and had now paid for it in full. The remaining 131.63 acres was sold on 5 Jul 1930, after George's death, at the Drug Store in Temperanceville at public auction, by Warner Ames, Special Commissioner (Acc Co Deed Bk 139, p. 384). This land was labeled Tract B on a survey of Dec 1929 (Plat Bk 3, p. 66) and was purchased by Calvin T. Bundick for $8,000. Calving T. Bundick then owned the entire acreage. Calvin's home was on the western part of the land (Tract A) and George's home was to the east. When George H. Bundick bought the land in 1906, the eastern portion contained an old home, built circa 1800. This house is now gone, but parts of it were used by his great-grandson, Terry Thomas, in his home near Temperanceville. In Apr 1929, Mr. G.H. Bundick, of Assawoman, was critically ill at the home of his business partner, Mr. H.F. Ewell of Makemie Park, after suffering a stroke at his office there. He was known throughout the Eastern Shore of Virginia and Maryland, where he has been engaged in the produce business for the past twenty years (Pen. Ent., 27 Apr 1929). He died at Mr. Ewell's home on 26 Apr 1929, at 57 years of age. He was born at Tasley, but resided at Assawoman for a number of years. He was a very successful farmer and fertilizer dealer and one of the largest produce brokers in upper Acc Co. Besides his seven children, he was survived by his widow, three Fitzgerald stepchildren, and three grandchildren (Pen. Ent., 4 May 1929). George was born on 13 January 1872 at Accomack Co, VA.1 He married Margaret E. 'Maggie' Daneker, daughter of (-----) Daneker, circa 1898 at Baltimore, MD.2 He married Mary A. Byrus, daughter of Robert Byrus and (sis|o Margaret) Daneker, circa 1923. George died on 26 April 1929 at age 57.1 His body was interred at Assawoman, Acc Co, VA.1

John Drewer
M, b. circa 1805
John was born circa 1805 at Virginia.1 John Drewer/Drury son's death certificate indicates that his father's name was John "Drewer" and that the son, John W. Drewer, was born in Baltimore, MD, in 1847. In the 1880 Acc Co census his son, John W. Drewer, listed his place of birth as Maryland, but listed Virginia as the place of birth for both of his parents. A John "Drewer" is listed in the 1840 Census as a head of Family in the 8th Ward, Baltimore City, MD. One free white male was listed, age 30-40. Three free white females were listed: 1 age 30-40, 1 age 20-30, 1 under 5. The later could have been Rebecca Drewer, John W. Drewer's sister, who was about 3 years old at that time. The total was 4, with 1 employed in the manufacturing trade and 2 over 20 years of age not able to read or write. This implies that John Drewer was born between 1800 and 1810. Virginia is sighted as his place of birth, based on the information provided by his son in the 1880 Census. Matchett's Baltimore City Directory for 1840-41, p. 128, lists a "Drewer John, Shoemaker, 35 York St., W of Light." This is the only exact match of this spelling of "Drewer" in the Baltimore City Directories from 1835 to 1845. However, the Directory for 1837-38, p. 116, lists a "Drohn" John, Shoemaker, 39 Fayette St. Attempts to locate John Drewer on passenger and immigration lists, with this exact spelling of "Drewer" were unsuccessful. However, the following were found: (1) A book entitled "U.S. Dept of State Passengers Who Arrived in U.S., Sep 1821 - Dec 1823, from transcripts made by the State Dept," Baltimore Magna Carter Book Co, 1969, p. 155, lists a "Dewer," J., age 29, arriving in Baltimore, MD, in 1822, and (2) A book entitled "Passenger Arrivals at the Port of Baltimore, 1820-1834, from Customs Passenger Lists," Genealogical Publishing Co, Inc., Baltimore, MD, 1982, p. 132, also has the same listing, "Dewer," J., age - 29, sex - male, occupation - farmer, country to which they belonged - U.S.A., ship - Charles Sidney, dates of arrival - 30 Sep 1822 (quarter of year ending on this date). Also from this same source on p. 144, "Drayer," Johann, 25, male, farmer, Germany, 30 Sep 1833, and on p. 148, "Duir," Jno. G., 21, male, farmer, Germany, 30 Sep 1832. Some older members of the Drewer family tell stories about the father and mother of John W. Drewer and his sister Rebecca. One version is that their father, who was very well educated, came from England and met and married their mother, a beautiful, but uneducated girl from Cattail who was visiting relatives in Baltimore, MD. He frequented the city docks and one day went there and never returned. Another version is that he was a harness maker by trade and left Cattail to go to Baltimore on a boat to buy leather for his business and never returned. The only proven facts are that his wife, Susan "Drury," widow of "Drury," remarried William Russell in Acc Co in 1849 and her children, John W. and Rebecca "Drewer," were living with their step-father, William Russell, on Saxis in 1850 in the household of Gillet Marshall. The surname "Drury" has been found listed among Irish pedigrees. He married Susan Simpson, daughter of Revell Simpson and Rebecca Chesser, circa 1835.2 He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1840 at 8th Ward, Baltimore City, MD.1

Both Charles Walker and Barbara (Witham) Martin understood that both Florence (Feddeman) Witham and her infant died in childbirth. However, there is some confusion about this. According to the George T. Feddeman Family Bible, Florence died on 23 Jun 1890. According to a Certificate of Birth issued on 16 Aug 1979 by J. Fulton Ayres, Acc Co Clerk, Mary L. Witham, child of Melvin E. and Florence Witham, was born in Nov 1889. Confirmation of this infomation was also issued by the Virginia Bureau of Vital Records and Health Statistics, on 21 May 1981. Therefore, Florence died 7 months after the baby was born. The death of the baby, Mary L. Witham, has not been determined. Florence was born on 15 November 1861 at Accomack Co, VA.1 She married Melville Edwin Witham, son of James Brown Witham and Hattie Brown, on 14 November 1888 at Worcester Co, MD.2 Florence died on 23 June 1890 at age 28.1
