It was in this year that a Charles Stockley deeded his brother Joseph 370 aces, saying it was the land John Stockley (I) had left to his son Charles, and was the same land which Joseph had deeded to Charles (II) by a General Court Deed in 1743. It seems possible that John (I) had left the lands entailed to his sons, so Charles (I) had had no right to sell, and that these sons Charles & Joseph had sued in General Court and recoverd. Again there is a blank in the record until 150 acres each were found in the possession of Joseph Matthews and Alexander Stockley, so more General Court transactions may have been involved..3 Charles was named in his brother's will on 15 October 1748 at Accomack Co, VA.
