     Richard was born circa 1650. He married Mary Merrideth, daughter of Phillip Merrideth and Ellinor (-----), circa 1670. In 1672 a land patent for tract N123 for 350 acres was granted to Elizabeth and Paul Marsh, Mary and Richard Hinman, and Elianor and George Trewett, 300 acres of it having been sold by Waddiowe to Phillip Meredith and the balance being excess found within the bounds. (NOTE: These were the 3 daughters of Phillip & Ellinor Meredith.).1 He married Mary Avery, daughter of John Avery and Sarah (-----), circa 1685.2 He married Elizabeth Gray, daughter of James Gray and Katherine Yeardley (Yeardley?), circa 1686.3 Richard made a will on 24 July 1721 at Guilford Creek, Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as Richard Hinman of Guilford Creek. To son John 800 acres land & marsh at Gilford Creek. To sons Argill & Baly 1000 acres to be divided between them, that is 400 acres where I now live & 600 acres below the land of Weatherington Fitchett. Wife & children residual legatees. Wife Elizabeth Exec. Witt: Edmond Tatham, Benjamin Royall, John Johnson, Weatherington Fitchett.4 Richard died before 1 August 1721 at Guilford Creek, Accomack Co, VA.4

     In his will, written 8 May 1684, John MacComb named a wife Elizabeth; a son James; and daughters Esther and Elizabeth. Wife was a residual legatee and Executrix. Witnesses were Edward Ashbye, Thomas Dant, James Gray and Daniel Darby (Acc Co Wills & Deeds, 1676-90(vi), p. 405). Since no guardian was named for son James MacComb at probate, could he have been over 21 years old? John was born circa 1650. He married Elizabeth Gray, daughter of James Gray and Katherine Yeardley (Yeardley?), circa 1680.1 John died in 1685.2 John's will was probated on 7 July 1685 at Accomack Co, VA.2

James Gray named daughters Ester Gray, alias Aymes; Elizabeth Gray, alias Hinman; Dorothy Gray, alias Littlehouse; and Mary; grandsons James and William Aymes, Peter Wadkinson, William and Simon Littlehouse, and James Gray Hudson; granddaughters Ester Macome, alias Hornsby. To daughter Ester Gray, alias Aymes, plantation where I now live for life, containing 200 acres, then 100 acres to my grandson James Aymes and 100 acres to William Aymes. To daughter Elizabeth Gray, alias Hinman, 200 acres adjacent the above for life, then to granddaughter Ester Macome, alias Hornsby, and for want of heirs to the heirs of my daughter Elizabeth by her present husband Richard Hinman. It was in this year that Peter Watkinson bought 550 acres of tract A40 between Painter & Keller from Col. John Stringer. Peter died in 1688 and left it to his son Cornelius and in 1708 Joseph Ames deeded 275 acres to "my loveing friend and cozen Cornelius Wadkinson."2 Peter made a will in 1687 at Accomack Co, VA. To son Cornelius plantation in the main woods containing 475 acres purchased of Col. John Stringer. To daughter Elizabeth. To son Peter. To wife Dorothy personal estate during her widowhood, then to be divided between my sons Peter & Cornelius & daughter Elizabeth - Wife Exec. James Gray, Joseph Ames & Richard Bally overseers of my will & children's estates. Witt: James Gray, Joseph Ames, Richard Bally.3 Peter died before 10 September 1688 at Accomack Co, VA.3

John Stringer.1 Cornelius witnessed a will on 3 December 1708 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Cornelius "Wadkinson" along with Arthur Layler and Floryana Littlehouse witnessed the will of John Watson.2 He married Abigail (-----) circa 1710.3 Cornelius Watkinson sold land in 1713 at Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that Cornelius Watkinson and his wife Abigail sold 250 acres of tract A40 between Painter and Keller, which he had inherited from his father Peter Watkinson, to Burnel Niblett.3 He bought land in 1719 at Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that Cornelius Watkinson bought 200 aces of tract A11 west of Painter from James Gray. It was found to be the northeast corner of the whole patent.4 Cornelius was named in his brother's will on 8 January 1719/20 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as brother Cornelius in the will of William Littlehouse.5 He sold land in 1721 at Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that Cornelius and Susannah Watkinson resold his part of tract A11 to Nathaniel Kellam.6 He married Susanna (-----) circa 1722.7 Cornelius made a will on 2 June 1749 at Accomack Co, VA. Son Thomas Watkinson. Son Cornelius Watkinson. Daughter Tabitha Philips. Son Peter Watkinson. Son Levin Watkinson. Wife Susanna Watkinson residual legatee - Son Thomas Exr. Witt: Robert Coleburn, John Taylor.7 He died before 26 July 1749 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated.7

It was on this date that administration on the estate of Gabriell Sheirle or Searle was granted to Alexander Maddox. Appraisers John Hinman, Stephen Horsey, Christopher Kirke & Nicholas Waddeloe.3 He married Jane (-----) circa 1656 at Northampton Co, VA.4 He made a will on 6 August 1660 at Northampton Co, VA. John Hinman, planter, named sons John and Richard Hinman, a daughter Sarah Hinman, and a cousin Richard Bayly. To John 500 acres seat of land and plantation on Nusswattox Creek. To Richard 800 acres at Occahannock. Remaining estate to be equally divided between 3 children, John, Richard and Sarah Hinman. Son John (under 18) to live upon the plantation but not to dispose of anything except by the consent of my cousin Richard Bayly. Son John executor and my cousin Richard Bayly overseer. And I desire him to take home with him my son Richard (under 18) to see to his education. Witnesses John Tilney and Morice Matthews (N'hamp Co Deeds, Wills, etc., 1657-66, p. 76)..5 John died on 28 August 1660 at Northampton Co, VA.6 His body was interred on 29 August 1660 at Northampton Co, VA.6 John's will was probated on 28 November 1660 at Northampton Co, VA. In Dec 1662 the court ordered an equal division of Mr. Hinman's estate with half to go to Timothy Coe who married Mr. Hinman's daughter (N'hamp Co Orders, 1657-64, f. 146). In Richard Bayly's will, written 12 Jun 1661, Richard Bayly mentioned his kinsmen John and Richard Hinman the son of John Hinman deceased (N'hamp Co Deeds, Wills, etc., 1657-66, p. 93)..7,5

In order of probate Littleton Dennis guardian to the heir at law (Acc Co Wills, 1761-67, p. 603). Bayly was born circa 1724 at Accomack Co, VA. He married Ann Young, daughter of John Young (I) and Comfort Tatham, circa 1752.2,3 Bayly's will was probated on 20 April 1766 at Accomack Co, VA.4 Bayly died in 1766.4

     Arnold was born circa 1700 at Accomack Co, VA. He married (-----) (-----) circa 1730. On 28 Feb 1748/49 in Acc Court Arnold Morgan (attorney: Geo. Douglas) sued Thomas Bennet, who failed to appear. Morgan, who was to recover £3:01:04 plus costs, was to pay 75 lbs tobacco to his witness Philip Fisher for attending three days.2 Arnold was named in his father's will on 15 April 1751 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as son Arnold Morgan in the will of John Morgan Sr., wife Mary.1 Arnold was named as administrator of an estate on 27 August 1751 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Jacob Morgan was granted to Arnold Morgan with William Andrews securities.3 He inherited land in 1751 at tract A139, Mappsville, Acc Co, VA. It was in this year that Arnold inherited 100 aces of tract A139 from his father John Morgan Sr.4 He had a child bound to him on 31 August 1756 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. Ordered that William Bennet Orphan of Thomas Bennet Aged Twelve Years last June be bound by the Church Wardens of Accomack Parish till Lawfull Age to Arnold Morgan to learn the Trade of a House Carpenter the said Arnold first giving security for the Performance of the Indentures.5 Arnold witnessed a will on 19 June 1759 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Arnold Morgan, George Johnson & Solomon Johnson witnessed the will of Mary Bell the mother of Tabitha Thatam & others.6 He was security on the administration of an estate on 30 December 1760 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of James Morgan was granted to Mary Morgan with Arnold Morgan security.7 Arnold witnessed a will on 25 September 1762 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Arnold Morgin, William Bell & Bridget Bell witnessed the will of Edmond Kelly, wife Catherine.8 He married Mary Bell, daughter of Edward Bell and Mary (-----), before 25 February 1764 at Accomack Co, VA.9 Arnold witnessed a will on 25 February 1764 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Arnold Morgin, William Bennett & Mary Morgin witnessed the will of George Johnson, wife no name.10 Arnold witnessed a will on 2 September 1764 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Arnold Morgin, John Cowley & Edward Gunter Jr. witnessed the will of David James, wife Elizabeth.11 Arnold witnessed a will on 20 May 1766 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Arnold Morgan, John Onions & Scarburgh Lewis witnessed the will of Anne Stockley..12 Arnold witnessed a will on 17 April 1769 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Arnold Morgan & Mary Morgan witnessed the will of Rachel Bell, who named 8 children.13 Arnold made a will on 1 December 1771 at Accomack Co, VA. Grandson John Glasby plantation where I live. To grandson William Glasby plantation purchased of Joseph Smith. Wife Mary to have use of land, if she remain a widow, until my grandsons come to age, provided she let my youngest daughter Sarah Morgan live with her, & to let my two grandsons live with her. Daughter Leah Cole. Brother William Morgan & William Sacker James Exrs. Witt: Edward Gunter, Thomas Taylor, Mary Bennit.9 Arnold died before 26 February 1772 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated. Leah Cole & Sarah Morgan, 2 of the co-heirs of the testator, appeared in their proper persons, Ann Hinman, the other co-heir not being found by the Sheriff to be cited. Stephen Bloxom app. guardian to William Glasby, another of the heirs of the testator. Mary Morgan qualified..9 He deeded land as a gift in 1772 at tract A139, Mappsville, Acc Co, VA. It was in this year that Arnold (wife Mary) left his home place to a grandson Jon Glasby, and the plantation he had bought from Joseph Smith to another grandson William Glasby; the Smith-Morgan deed was not found, and the latter piece has not been definitely identified. As time went on, the name Glasby, sometimes spelled Glaspy or Glaspie, gradually became Gillespie, with an accent on the first syllable. While the land was not traced further, descendants of John Glasby kept adding to their holdings until only a few years when a survey showed that a Gillespie owned over 350 acres in this immediate vicinity, and there are people of that name still living on a part of the land.4

Charles Bagwell was the security on the M.L.B. of Dennis Clayton and Susanna Riley..4 Dennis was named in his mother's will on 9 June 1811 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as a son Dennis Clayton in the will of Tabitha Clayton..2 He was named in a land cause on 4 May 1813 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Raymond Riley, Dennis Clayton & Susannah his wife were shown as heirs of Henry Fltecher Sr. (NOTE: Raymond and Susannah were children of Ann Fletcher, a daughter of Henry Fletcher Sr., and wife of Thomas Riley.).5 He made a will on 11 November 1841 at Accomack Co, VA. Listed with him were the following Claytons: Laura, age 36; Dennis Jr., a 34 year old farmer; and Susan, age 31..3 Dennis died on 15 October 1859 at Guilford, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Dennis Clayton, who died of consumption at the age of 84 years. He was the son of Geo. C. Clayton, born at Guilford, a farmer.
