He was preceded in death by his son Robert Foster Fletcher Jr. and his brother Richard Fletcher. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1951 with an agricultural engineering degree.² Robert was buried at J.W. Taylor Cemetery, Temperanceville, VA.³
