In his will written 18 May 1795, John "Kilman" left: 1) to my wife Elizabeth my whole estate during her life; 2) to eldest son William Kilman all of my lands, and for want of heirs to my son Samuel. Children: William, Samuel, Sarah, Betsey, Abba and Mary Kilman residual legatees. Witnesses: Ephriam Vessels and James Vessels. In order of probate Elizabeth Kilman qualified (Acc Co Wills & c., 1796-1798, p. 242). John died in August 1797 at Accomack Co, VA.² John's will was probated on 28 August 1797 at Accomack Co, VA.²

     After her husband's death in 1797, Elizabeth "Kilman" "Jobs Isld" was listed as a head of an 1800 Acc Parish household, aged over 45 years. In 1810 she was listed as "Betty Killman" aged over 45 years. "Jobs Isld" is obviously Jobes Island which is on the sourthern shoreline entrance to Guilford Creek. Evans Sr.); a son, Thomas Killman (land near Robert Drummond, Henry Drummond Sr. dec'd., and Mrs. Ann Addison); a daughter, Sally A. Rayfield, her husband James T. Rayfield, and their heirs Kate J. Boggs and Henry Rayfield; grandsons, Joseph Killman, Henry Killman, and John Killman (land near Bagwell Chandler); and grand-daughters, Isabella Barnes and Minerva Hopkins (land on Ezekiels Creek in Wise's Neck between "Chesconessic" and Deep Creeks. Witnesses were E.M. Boggs, W.H. Harrison and James C. Drummond. At probate Thomas Killman became the executor with Thomas Crockett as surety (Acc Wills 1882-1901, pp. 45-47)..
