William was born circa 1750 at Accomack Co, VA. He inherited land in 1766. No land was mentioned in the 1766 will of William Finney II, wife Joana, but he made a reference to 2 sons of his dec'd son William III without giving their names. Presumably the elder of the two grandsons was a William IV, who inherited the entailed land. In 1806 this William Finney IV, wife Euphamy, left the southwest part of his land to a son Thomas Watts Finney and the balance, which was the home place, to his son William V. After the intestate death of Thomas W. Finney the property was surveyed in 1875 for a division and the house & 58 acres went to Susan C., the wife of John P.L. Hopkins, but later in that year the Hopkins' sold to Charles P. Finney. In 1897 he left a long will, but it was renounced by his widow Maggie S. and two years later a commissioner sold this part to a brother John T. Finney, who in 1905 left to John T.F. Rogers. It has since gone out of the family and had other owners and in 1947 it was purchased by Byron O. & Dorothy M. Bonniwell of Wachapreague. The house is A60A, called the Finney Place, with bricks marked TWF - DB - 1813, which was a few years after Thomas W. Finney inherited the land. In 1853 William Finney V left his 557 acre plantation to his son William and then to his heirs. William Finney VI died in 1886 and was succeeded by a son Henry O. Finney. The site A60B, as nearly as can be determined, is approximately the site of the orginal Finney home on the tract and continued as the home place, down to recent times, but no old house is now in existence (1951).3 He deeded land as a gift in 1778 at Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that William Finney IV deeded 200 acres at Wallops Neck, near Chincoteague Inlet, to his brother John Finney, solider, for his natural life.4 He married Euphamia Fletcher, daughter of Henry Fletcher Sr. and Leah Corbin, circa 1780.5 William made a will on 29 December 1804 at Accomack Co, VA. To wife Euphamy Finney riding carriage & carriage man Plato. To son Thomas Watts Finney part of the land where I now live it being part of the land whereon George Wise now lives bounded by… George Wise's peach orchard, Isaiah Jester's peach orchard, the market road, Garret Topping's peach orchard & the land of William Boggs. To son Thomas my Negro man Audrin & a large looking glass I bought of Levin White's estate. To son William Finney the residue of the land I now live on. To son William Finney Negro man Phillip & large looking glass I bought of Richard Cave Jones & my still. To son Henry Fletcher Finney my plantation on Chincoteague adjoining Wallops Neck containing 300 acres. If son Henry dies before age 21 then the plantation to sons Walter Robinson Finney & John Smith Finney. The rest to my children Susanna Finney, Walter R. Finney & John Smith Finney. Wife Euphamy Finney & Thomas Evans Sr. Extrs. Witt: Thomas Young, Solomon Read & Obadiah Adams.6 William died before 27 January 1806 at Accomack Co, VA.2,6

Peter D. Corbin was listed as a head of household in the 1830 Census, age 20-30 (actually 23) with a wife of the same age. There was another white male of that same age and another white female of that same age living with him. This was likely his brothers or sisters since his father had died in 1815 leaving many small children. There was 1 daughter under 5, possibly Sarah Ann, and 4 slaves. In 1840 he was 30-40 (actually 33) with a wife 40-50 (b.c. 1790-1800), 2 sons under 5, 1 son 5-10, 1 daughter 5-10, 1 daughter 10-15, 1 daughter 15-20, 1 other white female 30-40 (this could have been his wife with the older female a relative), 1 free negro and 3 slaves. There is some confusion about Peter Dennis Corbin Sr.'s twin sons. The 1850 Census shows Samuel T. and Caleb B., both born circa 1847. The 1860 Census shows Thomas H.B. and Henry A.W., both born circa 1847, but does not show Samuel T. and Caleb B. The only obvious solution is that the first set of twins died before the 1860 Census and the ages of the second set of twins were reported incorrectly in the 1860 Census. Maybe they were age 3 and not 13. His common name was Peter. Peter was born on 25 May 1807 at Accomack Co, VA.1 He married Charlotte Milligan, daughter of John Milligan Sr. and Sally Tunnell, on 19 November 1828 at Accomack Co, VA. George Jenkins and Caleb Broadwater were the securities on the M.L.B. of Peter D. Corbin and Charlotte Milligan..2,3 He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1830 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.4 He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1840 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.5 Peter was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Peter D. Corbin, a 43 year old farmer with real estate valued at $4,000. Listed with him were the following Corbins: Charlotte, age 43; Sarah A., age 20; Elizabeth D., age 16; Ralph J., age 14; Charles W., age 12; Othelia W.F., age 10; Peter D., age 6; Samuel T., age 3; and Caleb B., age 3. Also listed was Sam Johnson, age 25 and black..6 Peter was living at Jenkins Bridge, Acc Co, VA. Peter died on 30 October 1875 at age 68.1
