He was shown as Noah Stant, age 17 and oystering in HH#AT594 headed by Edmund Stant, a 50 year old oysterman..³ He married Mary Ellen Miles on 29 December 1875 at Worcester Co, MD.⁴ Noah was listed with his parents in the census of in 1880 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Noah Stant, age 25 in HH#274 headed by Edmond Stant, a 72 year old farmer. Also listed were his wife Mary, age 24 and daughter Emma, age 1..⁵ Noah died on 27 April 1928 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA. Noah Stant died at home at Sanford on Friday, 27 Apr 1928, aged 73. Survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 12 May 1928). Noah Stant, aged 73 years, died of heart failure at home at Grotons on 28 Apr 1928. Levine Taylor, aged 65 years and wife of James Taylor, died on Monday, 30 Sep 1890, near Sanford of consumption (Pen. Ent., 4 Oct 1890).      According to church records, Mary Elizabeth (Miles) Stant was on the Pocomoke roll in 1908 and took her vows on 2 Oct 1910 and died in Sep 1914. Mary was born on 1 December 1856 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of John H. Miles and Hannah N. Stevenson.      Milcah was born circa 1848 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Edmond Stant and Milcah 'Milky' Corbin. Milcah was listed with her parents in the census of in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Milkah Stant, age 12 in HH#1135 headed by Edward Stant, a 53 year old farmer. (Note: She was not listed with them in the 1850 census, when she would have been 2 years old.).¹

     Mary was born circa 1848.¹ She married Sewell H. Stant circa 1870.²

     Samuel J. Stant's parents are unproven to date. However, he was living next door to Gilbert Stant, assumed to be his father, in the 1850 Census and next door to Raymond and John H. Stant in the 1860 Census, assumed to be his brothers. In the 1850 Census he was listed as a sailor and his real estate was valued at $100. In the 1860 Census he was listed as a farmer and his real estate was valued at $2,000 and his personal property was valued at $700. On 22 Feb 1859 Samuel J. Stant purchased 1 acre and all apparaties for $100.00 from Jones F. Terry & Mary, his wife. Bounded on north by James H. Corbin; east, Samuel J. Stant; south, Samuel Sparrow; west, Samuel J. Stant (Acc Deeds No. 41, 1858-1860, p. 428). In 1900 he was listed as Samuel U.(?) Stant, head of HH#513 in Atlantic Dist, Acc Co, age 78 and an oysterman, with a wife of 18 years named Rebecca, age 38. Based on neighbors of Feddaman, Collins and Webster, he was probably living in the Sanford area. Having a wife named Rebecca of 18 years in confusing, as this would imply that they were married in 1882. However, he married Harriet Lankford in 1885. One explaination would be that Harriet was also know as Rebecca. Samuel was born circa 1828 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of Gilbert Stant and Sally Ann Miles.      Cordelia J. Stant was the first cousin one time removed of her husband Major H. Stant. According to church records, she was on the Sanford roll in 1898, 1900, 1908 and 1917.      The parents of this John H. Stant are unproven. He was living with Samuel J. Stant and his wife Mary E. in the 1850 Census. However, their marriage record shows them being married in 1848 and John H. Stant was born circa 1844, according to the 1850 Census. This was 4 years before the marriage and Samuel would have been only 16 and Mary only 14 years old. Pending other proof, he is being shown as the son of John Stant and his wife Margaret Ann (widow of Richard Bull) who were married in 1839. Neither of his possible parents have been found in the 1850 census and it is assumed he was living with relatives. John was born circa 1844 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of John Stant and Margaret Ann Bull. John was listed with another family in the cenus of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as John H. Stant, age 6 in HH#626 headed by Samuel J. Stant, a 22 year old sailor..² He married Susan Ball circa 1865.³ John died in July 1883. John H. Stant, Private Co. B, Heavy Artillary, died in the hospital (Pen. Ent., 5 Jul 1883)..⁴

     Coventon Corbin was listed as a head of household in the 1810 Census, age 26-45 (b.c. 1765-1785) with a wife age 16-26 (b.c. 1785-1795), 1 son under 10, 1 daughter under 10, and 4 slaves. In 1820 Coventon was over 45 (b. before 1775) with a wife age 26-45 (b.c. 1775-1795), 2 sons under 10, 2 sons 10-16, 3 daughters under 10, and 6 slaves. In 1830 Coventon was age 60-70 (b.c. 1760-1770) with a wife age 40-50 (b.c. 1780-1790), 5 sons (1 under 5, 2: 10-15, 2: 20-30, 6 daughters (1: under 5, 1: 5-10, 2: 10-15, 1: 15-20, 1: 20-30), and 8 slaves. In 1840 Coventon was age 70-80 (b.c. 1760-1770) with a wife age 50-60 (b.c. 1780-1790), 6 sons (1: under 5, 2: 5-10, 2: 20-30, 1: 30-40), 6 daughters (2: under 5, 1: 10-15, 2: 15-20, 1: 20-30) and 7 slaves. However, it is possible that in the later Census some of those listed above as children may have been grandchildren or other relatives living with him. His death circa 1845 is based on him being in the 1840 Census and not in the 1850 Census. Coventon was born circa 1770 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of Ralph Corbin Sr. and Rachel (-----). He married Sarah Ann 'Sally' Drummond on 31 March 1807 at Accomack Co, VA.³ He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1810 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.² He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1820 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.² He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1830 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.⁴ Coventon died circa 1845.

     Sarah was born circa 1785 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Charles Drummond and Comfort Drummond. She married Coventon Corbin on 31 March 1807 at Accomack Co, VA.³ Sarah was listed with another family in the cenus of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Sarah A. Corbin, age 65 in HH#926 headed by Gillet P. Ewell, age 45. He was her son-in-law. Her daughter Elizabeth, was evidently deceased by this time..⁴

     Charles was born on 7 April 1842 at Accomack Co, VA.³ He was the son of William Stant and Sarah Ann 'Sally' Corbin. Charles was listed with his parents in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Charles Stant, age 7 in HH#1002 headed by Wm. Stant, a 50 year old farmer..² Charles was a member of at Pocomoke Meth Ch, Grotons, Acc Co, VA. According to "A History of Pocomoke Church, Grotons, Virginia," Charles Stant was a member of Class No. 1 and a member of the Sunday School in 1858..      Harriet was born on 18 December 1848 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Valentine Smith and Elizabeth 'Betty' Stant. She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.³ She married Charles D. Stant on 25 December 1865 at Accomack Co, VA. He was a 25 year old sailor and she was also aged 25. They were married by M. Oldham..¹ Harriet was listed with her husband in the census of in 1870 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Harriet Stant, age 30 and keeping house in HH#AT582 headed by Charles Stant, a 30 year old oysterman..⁴ Harriet was listed with her husband in the census of in 1880 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Harriet Stant age 49 in HH#439 headed by Chas. Stant Sr., a 48 year old sailor. She was his wife..⁵ Harriet was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1900 at Atlantic Dist, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Harriet T. Stant the head of HH#382, born in Jan 1842, age 58, the mother of 3 with 3 living, born in VA. Listed with her were Charles T. Stant, a 30 year old oysterman and Susan Stant, age 15..⁶ Harriet died on 20 August 1929 at age 80.² Her body was interred at Broadwater Farm, Grotons, Acc Co, VA.²

     James was born circa 1775. He married Ann 'Nancy' Boston circa 1799 at Accomack Co, VA.^1,2 James died circa 1807.

     George H. Bundick was born circa 1844, according to both the 1850 and 1860 census. Local records continued to call this man George Bundick, when the census of 1870 gave his age as 25, an unmarried head of a household in St. George Parish, and that of 1880, which indicdates he was born in 1846 and shows him head of a household in Lee District. His tombstone in Assawoman Methodist Church Cemetery, gives his name as Geroge H. Bundick, his birth in 1848 and death in 1884. Since his remains had to have been moved to Assawoman, perhaps the birth date on his tombstone is inaccurate. However, his family has a framed memorial honoring him which gives his birth as 31 May 1848 and death as 24 May 1884. His Acc Co marriage record shows him as aged 24 years in 1871 (b.c. 1847) and being married on 14 Dec 1871, while family records show the marriage was on 14 Dec 1870. Family members report that his children were born near Tasley. On 24 Dec 1883, George Bundick bought 100 acres of land from Sallie E. Slocomb of Worcester Co, MD, for $1200 (Acc Co Deed Bk 56, p. 318). He gave Mrs. Slocomb a bond for $100 on the same day, putting up the land as collateral (Ibid., p. 319). This farm was "near the village of New Church, on the road to Horntown," bordered on the south by the road, on the west by William H. Marshall's land, and on the east by Solomon Marshall's heirs. This is the present home farm of William C. Carey Jr. On the same day, Sallie E. Slocomb sold to James E. Justice, land on the opposite side of the road, land presently owned by H. Robert Tull (Ibid., p. 316). James E. Justice had married Elizabeth T. Satchell in 1869. His wife and George Bundick's wife were sisters. Mr. George Bundick, son of George, died on 10 May 1884, at 36 years of age, leaving a widow, Margaret (Acc Co Reg. of Deaths, 1853-96). George Bundick was an industrious farmer and very worthy citizen, who died at his home near Drummondtown (present-day Accomac) on 24 May 1884, aged about 40 years (Pen. Ent., 31 May 1884). On 10 Feb 1886, Alfred J. Lilliston, administrator of George H. Bundick, deceased, paid to Sally E. Slocomb $434.91, on the debt to her, "said amount being the full balance in said administrator's hands" (Acc Co Deed Bk 59, p. 25). This land was sold at public auction on 6 Jun 1891 and Sally E. Slocomb bought it back for $860 (Acc Co Deed Bk 63, p. 413). James E. Justice and his wife Elizabeth sold the farm on the opposite side of the road to William J. Ardis in 1888 (Acc Co Deed Bk 60, p. 328). George Bundick was the third man of this Bundick line who died before his father. Besides his widow, he left five children, the eldest only 12 years of age and the youngest at 1 1/2 years. Since there is no 1890 census, the family cannot be located again until 1900. It is evident that George Bundick had not moved his family to New Church before he died, for the record of the sale of his personal property on 11 Nov 1884 gives the names of people who bought as lower Acc Co people (Acc Co Inv., 1882-86, p. 454). George was born in 1844 at Accomack Co, VA. Family records show he was born 31 May 1848..¹ He was the son of George H. Bundick and Ann 'Annie' Wessells. George was listed with his parents in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as George Bundick, age 6 in HH#515 headed by George H. Bundick, a 37 year old farmer..² George was listed with his parents in the census of in 1860 at St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA. He married Margaret Hester 'Maggie' Satchell on 14 December 1871. He was shown as George Bundick, a 24 year old farmer, the son of George & Annie Bundick and she was Maggie Satchell, age 17, the daughter of William & Eliza Satchell. They were married by J. Carroll.      Levin was born circa 1844 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of John T. (of J.) Marshall and Henrietta 'Hetty' McCready. Levin was listed with his parents in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Lewis Marshall, age 6 in HH#989 headed by John Marshall of J., a 31 year old laborer..² He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.³ He married Matilda A. Stant on 24 November 1875 at Somerset Co, MD.⁴ Levin died on 25 December 1928 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA. Levin P. Marshall, aged 85 years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wilbur H. Powell of Hallwood, on 25 Dec 1928. He always lived in the Sanford area and was a member of the Pocomoke Methodist Church. The funeral was conducted by Rev. E.E. Ren and interment was in the Lewis Cemetery. Survivors were listed (E.S. News, 4 Jan 1929). Mr. Levin P. Marshall of Sanford, VA, died on 25 Dec 1928, aged 75 years (Pen. Ent., 9 Jan 1964 - 35 years ago). He is believed to be the same as "Louis P." Marshall, listed in the 1850 Acc household of John and Hetty Marshall, aged 6 years. This would make his birth circa 1844 and his age at his death would have been about 85 as shown in the E.S.
