To beloved wife Margaret bureau and family Bible which belonged to her before our marriage, also one bed, bedstead, and furniture, first choice, also negro woman named Mahaly and at her death the right to dispose of Mahaly to any of my children. I also lend to my wife during her lifetime one dozen silver teaspoons, one half dozed table spoons, one horse called Charley and first choice of carriages, also one truckle bed, this not to deprive my wife of her dower right. To son George B. Mapp my plantation on Wachapreague Creek containing 125 acres, also the following slaves, viz. Bill, Rachel, Leah, Charles and Mary the younger, child of Leah her mother now dead. Also to son George B. Mapp the bible containing the names of my father's children and the half doz. Table spoons I loaned to my wife. To son William C. Mapp my plantation on Ames Ridge, 130 acres, adj. the lands of Thorowgood Mears , also all my land adj Garrisons Chappel , 84 acres. Also the family bible in which are registered the births of all my children ... also the slaves Shadrack, Charlotte, Taby, Maria, Sam, also negro child Bob the son of Candice and also child Martha and child Lewis. Also the farming utensils on the land given to him. To son William C. Mapp as trustee for my son Edwin T. Mapp's children all my tract of land purchased of John H. Langsdale, containing 100 acres, and the following slaves viz. Jim, Selva, Frederic, Easter and Peter; but in the event my grandchildren should die without issue or before any one of them arrive at 21, the aforesaid real and personal estate shall revert to my estate. It is my wish and desire that none of the slaves named shall be removed from the Eastern Shore without proper cause and if removed they to revert to my estate. To daughter Leah Davis during her life and then to her children the following slaves, viz Newbry, Bridget, John, George, Sam, the child of Bridget, Ellen and George, Isaac and Charles. Also one large gilt framed looking glass, a colt called Jim Crow, also 1 doz. Teaspoons I loaned to my wife. To grandchildren, sons and daus. of John D. Mapp dec'd, viz. John T., Richard A. Virginia E., and Laura A. Mapp all my tract of land situated on Occahannock Creek, 79 acres adj. the land of James Ashby, Solomon Bunting & others. To granddau. Margaret V. Ames, wife of John A. Ames, negro girl Sarah, also negro boy Tom and also the sum of $100. To son George B. Mapp as trustee for Mary Arlington, wife of John Arlington, negro woman Mary, also the sum of $100 to be used so as not to benefit her husband in any manner or form. To granddaughter Elizabeth Fosque, wife of Nathaniel Fosque, negro woman Candice and the sum of $100. To niece Elizabeth V. Harrison $300, furniture, and negro girl Adah. The remainder of my estate to my 3 children viz, George B., William C. Mapp and Leah Davis. Executors George B and William C Mapp. Witt: Edward B. Finney, David B. Finney..7 George died on 13 August 1862 at age 83. George T. Mapp died at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 10, according to the family Bible..4,3,5 His body was interred at Marshside, Wachapreague, Acc Co, VA. His tombstone shows him as George T.
