Martin, a World War I veteran of Exomore, died on 30 Nov 1958, aged 63 years. He was the son of James T. and Mary Stant Martin, born and reared at Saxis. Burial was in Onancock Cemetery.      Elizabeth was born on 21 December 1928 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Milton Lee Drewer Sr. and Georgie Mae Seward. Elizabeth died on 21 June 1991 at Fair Oaks Hosp, Fairfax, Fairfax Co, VA, at age 62.¹ Her body was interred at Downing's Cem, Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.¹

     Mrs. John West, who died at her home in Wilmington, DE, on 7 Dec 1944, will be missed by the people of Saxis. She was the daughter of Mrs. Maude Taylor of Saxis (Pen. Ent., 15 Dec 1944). This article must have spelled her name wrong as her second husband was John Wescocki, not West. Viola was born in 1887 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² She was the daughter of John Lindham 'Bud' Taylor and Martellin Eliza 'Maude' Drewer. She married John W. Marshall on 24 December 1903 at Somerset Co, MD.² Viola was on the in 1908 roll of the at Meth Ch, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.³ She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1910 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ Viola was confirmed at age at an unknown age , in 1911 at Meth Ch, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.³ She married John Wescoski circa 1920. Lillian was on the in 1900 roll of the at Meth Ch, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1910 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.³ She was judged not married to John Pierce in 1910.      Arvergne C. Taylor was one of the men from Saxis that were drafted and sent to Camp Lee (Pen. Ent., 1 Jun 1918). According to his mother's obituary, Cecil was living in Baltimore, MD, at the time of her death (Pen. Ent., 29 Nov 1946). Cecil was born on 24 February 1893 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of John Lindham 'Bud' Taylor and Martellin Eliza 'Maude' Drewer. He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1910 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ Cecil was living on 21 July 1917 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA, (Army Registration).³ Cecil was a member of the armed forces on 1 June 1918 serving at Camp Lee, Petersburg, VA.⁴ He married Virginia 'Jennie' Baker circa 1935 at Wilmington, New Castle Co, DE.⁵ Cecil died on 27 July 1967 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA, at age 74.² His body was interred at Taylor Cem, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.⁶

     Mr. William Adolph Marshall, husband of Mary Mills Marshall, died at Hill Haven Medical Center in Virginia Beach, VA, on 14 Dec 1992. He was the son of John W. and Viola Marshall, born and reared on Saxis where he was a store merchant for many years. He was a member of R.C.A. Tect. School, B.P.O. Elks Lodge in Nelsonia and had two years of business college. Survivors were listed (E.S. News, 19 Dec 1992). William was born on 4 May 1911 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of John W. Marshall and Viola Sally Taylor. William was living in 1935 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.³ William died on 14 December 1992 at Virginia Beach, VA, at age 81.¹

     Billie was born on 23 May 1937 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA. Another source shows she was born 4 Mar 1937..¹ She was the daughter of William Adolph Marshall. Billie died on 6 March 1968 at age 30.¹

     Howard Linton was living in Wilmington, DE, on 30 Jan 1944 when his brother Gilbert Linton died (E.S. News, 4 Feb 1944). Mr. Howard William Linton died at home at Saxis on 22 Feb 1957, aged 66 years. He was born and reared at Saxis, the son of George & Mahalie Marshall Linton. Survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 21(?) Feb 1957). Howard was born on 27 August 1891 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of George Washington Linton and Mahalia Jane Marshall.      Miss Lucile Blanche Wessells was married to Mr. Auvergne T. Linton on 4 Nov 1945 at the Methodist Parsonage, Pocomoke City by the Rev. George H. Pigueron Jr. She is the daughter of Clara F. and the late Clarence J. Wessells and he is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Howard Linton of Saxis (Pen. Ent., 22 Mar 1946). Lucile was born on 29 October 1921 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Clarence James Wessells and Clara F. Savage. Lucile was living in 1945 at Wilmington, New Castle Co, DE.¹ Lucile died on 31 July 1972 at age 50.² Her body was interred at Downing's Cem, Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.²

     Mr. Arthur J. Martin, aged 36, died 10 Mar 1934 at Saxis. He was survived by: his parents Mr. & Mrs. James T. Martin; 1 daughter, Eugenia Martin; 4 sisters, Mrs. Sherman Wessells, Mrs. Mayo Lewis, Mrs. George Mears, Mrs. Winfred Godwin; and 3 brothers, Lettie, Parson, and Herman Martin (Pen. Ent., 17 Mar 1934). Arthur was born in December 1897 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of James Thomas Martin and Mary W. Stant.      Mr. Parson Martin died in DePaul Hospital on 10 Aug 1952, aged 51 years, as the results of falling off of a truck on Saxis. He was buried in the Dennis Cem. Survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 31 Jul 1952). Evidently there was an error in the obituary as he was survived by 3 sons, not 4. The fourth son listed was Kenneth. This may have been confused with Edwin's middle initial "K" which may be Kenneth. Parson was born on 25 December 1900 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of James Thomas Martin and Mary W. Stant. He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1910 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1920 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.³ He married Lydia Marshall on 15 August 1920 at MD-VA Line, Wor Co, MD.⁴ Parson was granted a divorce from Lydia Marshall before 1924.⁵ Parson was living on 16 January 1942 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA, (Selective Service).⁶ Parson died on 10 August 1952 at DePaul Hospital, Norfolk, VA, at age 51.⁷ His body was interred at J.W.      His common name was Captain Bob. Arvandus was born in 1880 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of Edmund Spencer Godwin and Burnetta Susan Hall. He married Sarah C.      George was born on 11 May 1886 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of James H. Thomas 'Buck' Hall and Sallie C. Killmon.      This Sewell Linton must have died very young, as his sister Grace did not remember him. Sewell was born in April 1900 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Sewell James Linton and Mary Jane Drewer. He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1900 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ Sewell died circa 1901 at infancy.² His body was interred at Taylor Cem, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.²
