     Her common name was Peggy. Margaret was born circa 1768 at Accomack Co, VA. The 1850 census puts her birth at 1780, but since the land cause of 1802 shows her as a daughter of Abraham Turner, she would have to have been born about 12 years earlier, as Abraham died in 1768..1 She was the daughter of Abraham Turner and Mary Anne Courtney. She married Levy Levi Annis circa 1792. In his will of 10 Oct 1797, Major Rayfield mentioned the lands he had bought of Levi Annis and Peggy his wife..2 Margaret was named in a land cause on 1 November 1802 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that a land cause was recorded wherein it was brought out that Mary, wife of Major Rayfield, had died in Aug 1796 leaving a daughter Peggy, the wife of Levi Ames (actually Annis) one of her children by her first husband, Abraham Turner..1 Margaret was listed with her daughter in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.
