     Samuel Wright never married. Samuel Wright, aged 20 to 30 years, was living with his parents in 1830 and again in 1840, at 30 to 40 years. Samuel Wright was listed as a 1st Lieutenant of the 99th Regiment of the Accomack County Militia in 1842 (Barnes, Vol. I, p. 140). Samuel was born on 7 September 1803 at Accomack Co, VA.2 He was the son of Thomas S. Wright and Rebecca 'Rebeckah' Hickman. Samuel was named as administrator of an estate on 26 February 1844 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Samuel Wright was named to settle the estate of Edward Wright. John Rew & James Justice were securities. On 30 November 1847, he made an agreement with Iby Curtis (Free-Negro), whereby, for $15, he purchased "her child until of proper age to be free by law", a girl named Matilda (Deeds 1846 - 1848, p. 698). Samuel Wright purchased 25 to 30 acres from his uncle Edward Wright's heirs in 1847. On 14 September 1850, Samuel bought 11½ additional acres from Colmore C. Hinman and wife Lovey (Deeds 1849 - 1850, p. 392).3 Samuel was named in his father's will on 22 July 1848 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as a son Samuel Wright in the will of Thomas Wright Sr..1 Samuel was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Samuel Wright the head of HH#627, a 45 year old farmer with real estate valued at $2,500. Listed with him were William Waters, a 16 year old black laborer and Tinny Custis, age 9 and black..4,5 Samuel was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. Listed with him were Ester Hickman, age 60 and Tabitha Finney, a 16 year old hired servant..6 Samuel was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1870 at Metompkin District, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Samuel Wright the head of HH#MT160, a 66 year old retired farmer with real estate valued at $3,000 and personal property valued at $1,000. He was living alone..7 He made a will on 23 May 1876 at Accomack Co, VA. He left all the lands he bought of Colmore C. Hinman, land he bought of Edward Wright's heirs and $800 to his niece, Willie Ann Wright. If she should die without heirs or under 21, then the land and cash was to go to her brother, William Thomas Wright, and her sister, Margaret S. Wright, the children of William T. Wright. He named his brother, William T. Wright, as executor. Between the time Samuel Wright wrote his will and his death, his brother had died and John J. Blackstone was named to settle his estate. The land Samuel Wright inherited from his father was sold on 4 November 1879 to Thomas Littleton, as 70 acres at $1711. The proceeds were divided, 1/5 each to: Mary Ann Rew, Catherine Wright, Catherine Hope, Sarah Hope, and the three children of William T. Wright (Chancery Orders 1877 - 1882, p. 361)..8 Samuel died on 21 August 1877 at age 73.2 His body was interred at Wright Cem, Rew, Acc Co, VA. His tombstone shows him as Samuel Wright, son of Thomas & Rebecca Wright..2 Samuel's will was probated on 27 August 1877 at Accomack Co, VA.8
