     Melvin was born on 22 September 1891 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Thomas Edward Evans and Amelia 'Irellie' Linton.      Miriam Lou Evans, the little daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Melvin Evans of Saxis, died on 4 Mar 1918, at Saxis of pneumonia. Interment was in the Drewer Cemetery (Acc News, 12 Apr 1918). Miriam was born on 30 July 1917 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Melvin Thomas 'Melly' Evans and Eliza Jane 'Janie' Drewer. Miriam died on 4 March 1918 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA, at age 0.¹ Her body was interred at Drewer Cem, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹

     Horace was born on 22 April 1917 at Onancock, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of William B. Smith. Horace was living in 1938 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD.¹ Horace died on 12 September 1985 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD, at age 68.²

Mrs. Geneva Drewer, wife of Mr. Howard Drewer, of Crisfield, MD, died at Pine Bluff Sanatorium, Friday, October 27. She was 43 years of age. Mrs. Drewer was highly esteemed and had a host of friends at Saxis where she was born and lived until after her marriage; also in Crisfield were she has made her home for several years. Surviving are her husband, Mr. Howard Drewer; one son, Carlton Drewer; her mother, Mrs. Amanda Miles, all of Crisfield, and a sister, Mrs. James T. Weaver, of Saxis. Her common name was Neva. Geneva was born on 15 June 1896 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Severn J. Miles and Miranda J. 'Amanda' Crockett.      Mrs. Rachel B. (Marshall) Martin, wife of Mear Martin, died 3 Jun 1942, aged 49 years, survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 12 Jun 1942). She died at AMHA Hospital. Services were conducted on 5 Jun at Saxis Methodist Church by Rev. Forrest with interment in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors included her husband, 3 children, 1 brother and her father and mother, all of who were named (E.S. News, 12 Jun 1942). Although her father and mother were listed as survivors, they predeceased her. Rachel was born on 12 March 1894 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of George William Marshall and Annie Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Hall.      We all welcome Elmore Marshall back to Saxis after receiving a medical discharge from the Navy at Camp Perry, VA (Pen. Ent., 24 Nov 1944). Mr. Saint Elmo Marshall of Saxis died in the Richmond Memorial Hospital on 19 Jul 1964, aged 49 years. He was the son of George Washington and Elizabeth Hall Marshall, a lifelong resident of Saxis. Survirors were listed (Pen. Ent., 23 Jul 1964). St was a member of the armed forces serving at US Navy Res, World War II.² St was born on 29 October 1914 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of George Washington Marshall and Elizabeth A. Hall.      Joseph was born on 15 December 1945 at Crisfield, Som Co, MD.¹ He was the son of Howard Scott Drewer. Joseph died on 7 November 1984 at College Park, Pr Georges Co, MD, at age 38.¹

     Annie was born in 1904 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Charles Solomon Furniss Sr. and Tryphenia Ann 'Triffy' Linton. Martin. Mrs. Mary Stant Martin, wife of James T. Martin, died at Saxis 11 Jan 1948, aged 72 years. Survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 16 Jan 1948). Mary was born on 15 April 1876 at Smith Island, Som Co, MD.¹ She was the daughter of Severn R. Stant Sr. and Lovitha E. 'Lovie' Bradshaw.      There were two contempory Elizabeth Martins on Saxis in the 1900 Census. One was listed on p. 69B, family #393, between James Ellis and Columbus Linton, as "Elizabeth" Martin, female head of household, age 65, born Jan 1835, widowed, and having had 3 children of which 3 were living. She was living alone. The second was listed on p. 72B, family #458, between William Flueharty and William Linton, as "Lessie" Martin, female head of household, age 65, born Dec 1834, widowed, and having had 5 children of which 4 were living. She had a daughter Mary Martin living with her who was age 25, born May 1875, single, and a dress maker. The second one is believed to be Elizabeth Amanda Phillips who married William H. Martin in 1861, as the other Elizabeth Martin had a known daughter Sarah named in the 1870 census. Elizabeth was born circa 1837 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Jacob Phillips and Mary (-----). She married William H. Martin on 18 December 1861 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as William H. Martin, a 25 year old famer, the son of Thos. & Sally Martin and she was shown as Eliz'th Amanda Phillips, age 24, the daughter of Jacob & Mary Phillips. They were married by B.T. He was survived by his parents, both sets of grandparents and a brother, all of who were listed (E.S. News, 1 May 1931). Stewart was born in February 1930 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Harvey Vernon Drewer Sr. and Annie P. Furniss. Stewart died on 26 April 1931 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA, at age 1.¹ His body was interred at Drewer Cem, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹

     Miss Lillian Lorraine Martin, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Herman Martin of Saxis, married Mr. Harvey Vernon Drewer Jr., son of Mr. & Mrs. H.V. Drewer Sr. at Saxis M.E. Church on 16 Jun 1950 (Pen. Ent., 23 Jun 1950). Lillian was born in 1931 at Tylerton, Smith Island, Som Co, MD.¹ She was the daughter of Herman John Martin and Sadie Ruth Marshall. Lillian was living in 1950 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ Lillian died in 1976 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² Her body was interred at J.W. Taylor Cem, Temperanceville, Acc Co, VA.²
