Snead in the will of Edward S. Snead. He was given the plantation on Chincoteague where William Turlington lives (& other persons) including all the land on Chincoteague given to me by my dec'd friend Edward H. Ker as named in his will. He was also given my bookcase & books given to me by Edward H. Ker dec'd writing table & ... (Note: The plantation on Chincoteague was also called "Corbin Hall.").4 He married Mary D. Wallop on 22 November 1854 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as Edward R. Snead of Edward S., dec'd and she was shown as Mary D. Snead, who died of unknown causes at the age of 5 months..7 Edward was listed with his brother in the census of in 1860 at Onancock P.O., St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Edward K. He would have been the child my wife goes with in the will of Smith Snead and was given the certificates in the possession of Major Parker or the money they sell for..2 Edward was born on 1 January 1793 at Northampton Co, VA.3,4 He was the son of Maj. Smith U. (218) Snead and Margaret S. (265) Ker. Edward was named in a land cause on 4 March 1801 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as Smith Snead, a son of Margaret Snead dec'd, and a nephew of Edward Ker the younger, also dec'd..5 Edward was named as an heir on 31 January 1825 at Accomack Co, VA. In the estate settlement of David Bowman, he was shown as Edward S. Snead and was to receive his 1/9 £115.17.5 in right of his mother, which was retained by William Seymour, his guardian. (Note: The settlement was finally recored on 31 Jan 1825, but the actual payment may have been years earlier, as David Bowman died in 1805.).6 Edward was named in the will of a cousin on 31 January 1826 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as my friend Edward Smith Snead in the will of Edward H. Ker and was given my plantation at Onancock called Ker Place except that part thereof which lies to the west of the road leading from Onancock Town to Deep Creek mill & which part lying on the west part of said road was purchased by my father of John Guy.
