Charles was born circa 1756 at Accomack Co, VA. According to Rev. John W.A. Elliott's Ledger Book, Charles Elliott was the 3rd son, born between William and Thomas Elliott. William has a tombstone showing he was born in 1754 and Charles is shown in the 1800 and 1810 census as being born between 1755 and 1765. Therefore, circa 1756 seems to be a reasonable date. Rev. John W.A. Elliott's Ledger Book also shows Charles settled in a district called the White Marsh..2 He was the son of Thomas Elliott (mechanic) and Ann Wescott. He married Seymour Lurton circa 1780.3 Charles was named in his father's will on 19 November 1784 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as a son Charles Elliott in the will of Thomas Elliott Sr..4 Charles sold land on 15 March 1793 at St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA. It was on this date that Charles Elliott & wife Seymour (of St. George Parish) sold Jacob Edwards (of Accomack Parish) for 30 pounds current money of Virginia a fourth part of 75 acres (in St. George Parish) he had inherited from his father Thomas Elliott dec'd at the death of his mother Ann Elliott dec'd. The deed was witnessed by Zorobable Chandler, Naomi Chandler & Abel Savage Junr..3 Charles was named in his mother's will on 10 July 1793 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as a son Charles Elliott in the will of Ann Ellioitt, widow of Thomas Elliott, dec'd..5 He married Elizabeth 'Betty' Edwards before 5 November 1797. Since Charles Elliott was named to settle the estate of Sacker Edwards, instead of Sacker's brother John Edwards and George Taylor, perhaps Charles had married Sacker's sister Betty and she was deceased by the time Sacker wrote his will..6 He married Bridget (-----) before 21 October 1805.7 Charles was named as administrator of an estate on 26 February 1798 at Accomack Co, VA. Charles Elliott qualified to settle the estate of Sacker Edwards instead of brother John Edwards & George Taylor who were named executors in Sacker's will..6 Charles was named as administrator of an estate on 28 October 1799 at Accomack Co, VA. Charles Elliott qualified to settle the estate of Tilney Rodgers instead of George Taylor who was named executors in Sacker's will..8 Charles was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1800 at St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Charles Elliott, the head of a household, age 26-45 years (bc 1755-1775). Listed with him were 2 males, age 0-10; 2 males, age 10-16; 2 males, age 16-26; 1 female, age 0-10; 2 females, age 10-16; and 1 female, age over 45 years. He had no slaves..2 Charles was named in his brother's will on 25 December 1804 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as a brother Charles Elliott in the will of Thomas Elliott of Northampton County. His sons were also named as my nephews William and James Elliott, sons of my brother Charles..9 Charles was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1810 at St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Charles Elliott, a head of household, age over 45 years (born before 1765). Listed with him were 2 males, age 0-10; 1 male, age 10-16; 1 female, age 16-26; and 1 female, age 16-45. He had no slaves..2 Charles died before 1820. He must have died before 1820, as he was not listed as a head of household and there was no older males in the household headed by James Elliott.. Charles was named in a land cause on 29 May 1833 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as Charles Elliott, who died in the lifetime of his nephew John T. Elliott, who died intestate in N'hamp Co, VA, some 10 years earlier.
