His death certificate shows his father as Henry Bailey and his mother's maiden name was Henrietta Bailey, both born in Virginia. His occupation was shown as shoemaker. He was a widower and died of old age. He was to be removed for burial in Onley, VA. According to an obituary he died one day after his 84th birthday. He died at midnight last evening at the home of his daughter Mrs. Kate Parker, 2106 North Street. Mr. Bailey was a native of the Eastern Shore, but had been brought to this city two months ago in the hope that his health would be improved. His is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Parker and Mrs. Annie Winborn and two sons, Messers Thomas and Carr Bailey. He is also survived by a brother Mr. William Bailey. The body will be forwarded to Onley, VA for funeral and interment tomorrow morning..1,2 His body was interred at Mt. Holly Cem, Onancock, Acc Co, VA.2
