Elliott, who died intestate in N'hamp Co, VA, some 10 years earlier. On 8 Feb 1833, the aforesaid George H. Bell and Margaret, his wife, Lorenzo D. Bell and Alice Ann, his wife, William H. Bell and Margaret, his wife, James Bell and Charlotte, his wife, Benjamin Bradford and Catharine, his wife (who was formerly Catharine Bell and is the same Catharine Bell above mentioned), Jesse Phillips and Mahala, his wife (who was formerly Mahala alias Mehaley Bell, and is the same Mahala Bell above mentioned), Sally Bell, alias Sally H. Bell, and Margaret Bell, by deed of that date conveyed to your orator Thomas R. Joynes the interest to which they became entitled as heirs at law of the said John T. John was listed with his mother in the census of in 1860 at St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA.³ John died on 1 March 1878 at Maryland at age 26. He died at the age of 27 of drowning in Maryland.      He was born at the "Jester Place" in western Hacks Neck and moved to Pungoteague in 1869 and resided there the remainder of his life. He was an expert cabinet and wood worker. In 1894 he made and erected the alter and pulpit of the Methodist Church at Harborton. He also built fast and beautiful bateaus. (For more on him see Hacks Neck and Its People, p. 209.).      The "Jester Place" in western Hacks Neck was owned by Jacob Jester, formerly of the Western Shore of Virginia, who purchased it from a Joynes about 1832.
