Philip was born on 21 April 1679 at Marumsco Section, Som Co, MD.1 He was the son of Philip Adams and Ann Crewe. He married Ellis Taylor circa 1706.1 He made a will on 6 January 1769 at Marumsco Section, Som Co, MD. He was shown as Philip Adams, planter, when he signed his will. He devised to his wife, Ellis, negroes, and the north end of his land; to daughter Elizabeth Matthews, negro Patience when her mother dies, also negro Abraham; to grandson Philip, son of Thomas Adams, a share in Condoque Marsh (25 acres); to daughter Grace Marshall, 25 acres of this tract, with other bequests to sons Hope and Thomas, daughters Rhoda Beachamp, Sarah Adams, as well as grandsons David and Hope (of son Hope), Philip Adams, Jesse Adams, Philip (of son William), and Philip Beauchamp..2 Philip died in June 1772 at Somerset Co, MD, at age 93.1
