     Mr. Isaac Kendall Marshall died at home at Mears on 25 Mar 1937. The funeral was at Bethel Baptist Church on 27 Mar 1937 conducted by Rev. R.S. Monds, with burial in the Bethel Church Cemetery beside his first wife. He was age 84 year old. He enlisted in the Navy in 1871 and received an honorable discharge in 1874. During his enlistment he saw the King and Queen of England. He was survived by a widow, one daughter, one sister, two brothers and 2 grandchildren, all of who were listed (E.S. News, 2 Apr 1937). Isaac was born on 12 April 1853 at Mearsville, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of Stephen Marshall and Patience P. Drummond. He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.¹ He married Marianna 'Anner' Burton on 27 January 1875 at Modest Town, Acc Co, VA.³ He married Clara Mae Parks Lewis on 13 October 1917 at Bloxom, Acc Co, VA.⁴ Isaac died on 25 March 1937 at Mears, Acc Co, VA, at age 83.⁵ His body was interred at Bethel Bapt Ch Cem, Mears, Acc Co, VA.² Isaac's will was probated in 1937 at Accomack Co, VA.⁶

     Marianna was born on 5 January 1851 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of William S. Burton and Nancy Rew. She married Isaac Kendall 'Ken Ike' Marshall on 27 January 1875 at Modest Town, Acc Co, VA.¹ Marianna died on 9 July 1915 at Mearsville, Acc Co, VA, at age 64.² Her body was interred at Bethel Bapt Ch Cem, Mears, Acc Co, VA.²

     Susan was born in 1855 at Accomack Co, VA.³ She was the daughter of Stephen Marshall and Patience P. Drummond. She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.¹ She married Charles Rowley Jr. on 26 December 1875 at Bethel Bapt Ch, Mears, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Charles Rawley, a 27 year old oysterman, the son of Chas. and she was shown as Susan Marshall, age 19 the daughter of Stephen & Patience Marshall. They were married by D.A. Woodson..² Susan died in 1924.³

     Euphemia Catherine (Marshall) Shrieves may have been a twin of Susan Vernetta (Marshall) Rowley. SEARCH FOR ISSUE OF HER AND LEWIS S. SHRIEVES. ACCORDING TO PETE MARSHALL THEY HAD 4 CHILDREN. Conflicting evidence states that Euphemia was born on 12 February 1855.² Euphemia was born on 5 February 1856 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Stephen Marshall and Patience P. Drummond. She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.¹ She married Lewis S. Shrieves on 24 May 1877 at Modest Town, Acc Co, VA.³ Euphemia died after 1937.²

     Mrs. Lizzie (Marshall) Chase, age 78 years, died Thursday morning after 3 weeks illness. She was a member of the Pocomoke Church, survivors were listed (E.S. News, 23 Apr 1925). Elizabeth was born in 1848 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of William Marshall and Pamelia S. Knight. Elizabeth was listed with her parents in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Elizabeth Marshall, age 1 in HH#982 headed by Daniel Boston, a 66 year old farmer with real estate valued at $600. Also listed was Wm. Marhall, a 23 year old laborer and Pamelia Marshall, age 21, who were evidently her parents..³ She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.⁴ She married William Kendall Chase on 28 February 1865 at Somerset Co, MD.⁵ Elizabeth died on 23 April 1925 at Accomack Co, VA.⁶ Her body was interred at Wessells Cem, Mears, Acc Co, VA.²

     Earle was born circa 1870. He married Elizabeth (-----) circa 1890.¹

     Etta was born in 1877 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of George R. West and Laura A. Johnson. She married Hildredge J. McCready on 24 August 1892 at Worcester Co, MD.² Etta died in 1977.¹

     Sampson Marshall Jr. is listed in the 1820 Acc Census as 26-45 (35) and had no sons. His wife was the same age as he and he had 2 daughters under 10. No other records have been found on him in Acc Co. Sampson was born circa 1785 at Accomack Co, VA. He was the son of Sampson Marshall Sr. and Mary 'Polly' (-----). He married Molly|Polly Tunnell on 18 May 1812 at Accomack Co, VA.² Sampson was the security on a M.L.B. dated on 1 February 1815 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Sampson Marshall Jr. was the security on the M.L.B. of Isaac Marshall and Nasha Chase of Robt..³ He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1820 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.⁴ He married Sally Marshall on 22 January 1822 at Worcester Co, MD.⁵

     This Sally Marshall may have been a member of the Bayside Marshalls, but since her marriage license to Sampson Marshall Jr. was issued in Worcester Co, MD, there is a good chance that she is not. Possibilities from the Bayside Marshalls include: the 2nd or 3rd d/o Thomas (b.c. 1792/94), the 2nd d/o Benjamin Sr. (b.c. 1795), the 1st d/o Henry (b.c. 1798), or the 3rd d/o James (b.c. 1801). Sally was born circa 1800.² She married Sampson Marshall Jr. on 22 January 1822 at Worcester Co, MD.²

     The only record linking Isaac Marshall to Sampson Marshall Sr.'s family is that on his marriage bond to Nasha Chase in 1815, Sampson Marshall, Jr. (Isaac's uncle) was listed as security. In the 1820 Census he was listed as a head of household, aged 26-45 (26) and his wife was also in this age group. There were 2 other males, 1 under 10 (shown below as an unnamed son, 4) and 1 aged 16-18 (which cannot be explained). There were also 2 other females, 1 under 10 (shown below as an unnamed daughter, 3) and 1 aged 16-26 (which cannot be explained). Isaac Marshall was not found in the 1830 Census and by 1840 his widow "Natia Marshall" aged 40-50 (43) was living alone as a head of a household. Isaac was born circa 1794 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of Robert Marshall. He married Nasha 'Natia' Chase on 1 February 1815 at Accomack Co, VA. Sampson Marshall Jr. was the security on the M.L.B. of Isaac Marshall and Nasha Chase of Robt..³ He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1820 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.² Isaac died before 1840.

     Nasha was born circa 1797 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Robert Chase Sr. and Sarah 'Sally' (-----). She married Isaac Marshall on 1 February 1815 at Accomack Co, VA. Sampson Marshall Jr. was the security on the M.L.B. of Isaac Marshall and Nasha Chase of Robt..¹ She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1840 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. Nasha (Chase) Marshall was living alone as a head of a household in 1840, age 40-50 (43)..³ Nasha was listed with her sister in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Naty Marshall, age 53 in HH#961 headed by James Killman, a 23 year old farmer with real estate valued at $200. Also listed was Polly Killman, age 43, who was evidenlty James' mother and Naty's sister..⁴ Nasha was living in 1855.⁵ She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. In 1860 she was age 65 and living with her nephew Levin T. Ross..⁶

     Leav Elbridge Marshall was called Elverage in the 1880 Census. He may have also been referred to as Levin Marshall. Mr. Elbride Marshall and Miss Neva Mears were married at the Maryland Line 30 Nov 1898 by Rev. A.J. Walter, both of Belinda (Pen. Ent., 3 Dec 1898). Capt. Leav E. Marshall died at Belinda on 7 Jun 1937, aged 61 years, survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 12 Jun 1937) & (E.S. News, 11 Jun 1937). He was a captain on boats that came up Messongo Creek and docked at Marsh Market. Levin was born in 1876 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of Richard R. Marshall and Nancy Shay. He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1880 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Neva A. Mears on 30 November 1898 at Maryland Line.³ Levin was living in 1926 at Messongo, Acc Co, VA.⁴ Levin died on 7 June 1937 at Belinda, Acc Co, VA.⁵ His body was interred at Mears Cem, Jenkins Bridge, Acc Co, VA.²

     Neva was born in 1882 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of James T. Mears and Caroline M. 'Grayline' Lewis. She married Levin Elbridge 'Leav' Marshall on 30 November 1898 at Maryland Line.³ Neva was on the in 1900 roll of the at Pocomoke Meth Ch, Grotons, Acc Co, VA.⁴ Neva was living in 1937 at Belinda, Acc Co, VA.¹ Neva died in 1962.² Her body was interred at Mears Cem, Jenkins Bridge, Acc Co, VA.²

     Miss Neva Grace Marshall married Mr. Charles Stanley Smith, son of Mr. & Mrs. Charles Smith of Horsey, Friday, 24 Dec 1938, at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Neva Marshall, wife of the late Leav Marshall of Belinda (Pen. Ent., 6 Jan 1939). The bride was given away by her brother, Dorsey J. Marshall, of Chester, PA. Her sister was Mrs. Georgie Webb (E.S. News, 13 Jan 1939). Neva was born in 1914 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Levin Elbridge 'Leav' Marshall and Neva A. Mears. Neva was on the in 1917 roll of the at Pocomoke Meth Ch, Grotons, Acc Co, VA.³ Neva was living in 1937 at Belinda, Acc Co, VA.¹ She married Charles Stanley Smith on 24 December 1938 at Belinda, Acc Co, VA.⁴ Neva died in 1964.² Her body was interred at Downing's Cem, Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.²

     Charles was living at Withams, Acc Co, VA.² His body was interred at Downing's Cem, Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.³ Charles was born in 1910.³ He was the son of Charles Smith. He married Neva Grace Marshall on 24 December 1938 at Belinda, Acc Co, VA.¹

     William was born in 1908.² He was the son of Ira James F. Webb and Margaret Kellam 'Maggie Savage' Conquest. William died in 1985.² His body was interred at Downing's Cem, Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.²

     Henny had been listed as a head of household, age 20-30 (33?), in 1840 with a male under 5 (2nd s/o Henny, 5). There were 3 females, one 15-20 (1st d/o Henny, 15), one 5-10 (2nd d/o Henny, 8) and one under 5 (3rd d/o Henny, 3). These four possible children are listed below, but no further records have been found that would identify any one of them. John William Marshall was identified as a son of Henny on his marriage record in 1848 and was living with Daniel Boston in 1850. Henny may have married an unidentified Bayside Marshall about 1825, but no marriage record has been found and they were not listed in the 1830 Census. He would have died before 1840 leaving her with these small children. No record of Henny's death has been found. She was head of a household in 1860 at age 53, with Elizabeth Marshall, age 15 and Richard W. Marshall, age 7, living with her. Elizabeth and Richard are shown below as children of Henny, although they may have been her grandchildren. In 1870, Henny Marshall was again listed as head of household, age 56 (63?). Elizabeth Marshall, age 23, and Jefferson Marshall, age 14, were in her household. Jefferson is also shown below as a child of Henny, although he may have also been a grandson. Henny's name has not been found in the 1880 Census, impling she died between 1870 and 1880. Henny was born circa 1807 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of John Marshall and Adah Marshall. Henny was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Henny Marshall the head of HH#983, age 43, next door to Daniel Boston, a 66 year old batchlor farmer. Listed with her was Elizabeth Marshall, age 5, who is assumed to be her daughter..³ Henny was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Henny Marshall the head of HH#275, age 53 with personal property valued at $10. Listed with her were Elizabeth Marshall, age 15 and Richard W. Marshall, age 7..⁴ Henny was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1870 at Atlantic Dist, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Henny Marshall the head of HH#AT356, a 56 year old house keeper. Listed with her were Elizabeth Marshall, a 23 year old seamstress and Jefferson Marshall, a 14 year old farm laborer..⁵ Henny died before 1880.⁶

     (-----) Marshall would have been the male under 10 (6) in the household of Thomas Marshall in 1800 and age 16-26 (16) in 1810. No actual record has been found of Thomas Marshall's son, giving his name or marriage. However, Henny (-----) Marshall, age 43, was listed as head of a household in the Messongo area next door to Daniel Boston in 1850. She is believed to be the wife of Thomas Marshall's son.      Richard W. Marshall was born illegitimate. Richard was born circa 1853 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Henny Marshall. Richard was listed with his mother in the census of in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Richard W. Marshall, age 7 in HH#275 headed by Henny Marshall, age 53..²

     George was born in 1640.¹ George immigrated to before 1663. He evidently emigrated to Maryland by 1663, for on 4 Dec 1663 he demanded land for transporting himself, Anthony Welch, Lewis Ellis, Thomas Vaughn, Richard Jones, and Hugh Carmean. He assigned his rights to 300 acres of land to William Moor..¹ He married Adria Potter circa 1663 at St. Marys Co, MD. George Marshall had married Adria Potter by 10 Sep 1663 when he petitioned the court, "being married to the Daughter of Henry Potter," that he had an interest in servants who made a crop with William Green (Adria's step-father) and James Woosey in 1662 and, having disposed of part of the tobacco to satisfy William Green's debts, William Green stands indebted to him..^1,2 He made a will on 2 September 1675 at St. Marys Co, MD. Being commanded out to march against the Indians he made his will 2 Sep 1675 in St. Mary's Co, leaving his estate to son "Adryan" Marshall. Thomas Potter (his brother-in-law) was to be the executor.. George died in October 1675 at St. Marys Co, MD.¹ George's will was probated on 1 December 1675 at St. Marys Co, MD.¹

     Adria was born in 1649 at St. Marys Co, MD.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Potter and Elizabeth (-----). She married George Marshall circa 1663 at St. Marys Co, MD. George Marshall had married Adria Potter by 10 Sep 1663 when he petitioned the court, "being married to the Daughter of Henry Potter," that he had an interest in servants who made a crop with William Green (Adria's step-father) and James Woosey in 1662 and, having disposed of part of the tobacco to satisfy William Green's debts, William Green stands indebted to him..^1,2 Adria died in 1680 at St. Marys Co, MD.¹

     Adrian Marshall was mentioned in his maternal grandmother's (Elizabeth (Potter) Green) will. He was evidently under 21 and left "my pewter and brass." Adrian moved from St. Mary's Co, to Somerset Co, MD, by 1701. On 2 Jun 1713 Adrian bought "Long Lott" from Randall and Sarah Long, land granted to Samuel Long 24 Oct 1679 in Somerset Co. Randall was Adrian's brother-in-law and Samuel was his father-in-law. Adrian's children were born in the Morumsco Section of Somerset Co. "Marumsco" Creek is shown on current maps and charts as due north and across the Pocomoke Sound from Saxis Island's North End Point. This close proximity to Saxis and Acc Co would explain why Adrian's descendants were in both Somerset and Acc Co. Adrian was born circa 1665 at St. Marys Co, MD. He was the son of George Marshall and Adria Potter. He married Elizabeth (18) Long circa 1702 at Somerset Co, MD.^1,2 Adrian died before 21 March 1717 at Somerset Co, MD. Adrian was still living on 13 Sep 1716 when he witnessed a bond among his wife's brothers to divide their inherited land, but he died before his wife made her will seven months later on 12 Mar 1716/17..

     Elizabeth (Long) Marshall was a widow when she made her will on 12 Mar 1716/17. Elizabeth was born on 19 February 1672 at Marumsco, Som Co, MD.² She was the daughter of Samuel Long and Jane (5) Minshall. She married Isaac Boston (I) circa 1690.^3,4 She married Adrian Marshall circa 1702 at Somerset Co, MD.^3,2 She made a will on 12 March 1717 at Somerset Co, MD.² Elizabeth died in March 1717 at Somerset Co, MD, at age 45. Elizabeth's will was probated on 21 March 1717 at Somerset Co, MD.²

     Isaac was born circa 1660 at Northampton Co, VA. He was the son of Henry Boston and Anne (-----). He married Elizabeth (18) Long circa 1690.^1,3 He made a will on 3 December 1700 at Somerset Co, MD.² Isaac died in March 1701 at Marumsco, Som Co, MD.² Isaac's will was probated on 9 April 1701 at Somerset Co, MD.²

     Adrian was born circa 1709 at Marumsco, Som Co, MD.³ He was the son of Adrian Marshall and Elizabeth (18) Long. Adrian died after 1733. He is under age 18 in 1716 in his mother's will. On the 1733 debt book for Somerset County, Adrian Marshall held 200 acres of Sewards Purchase, 25 acres of Boston Green and 100 acres of Longs Lott; he does not have this land on the 1759 debt book. He likely was the guardian of Isaac Boston, Jr. who sold the lands in 1756..³

     George was born in 1703 at Marumsco, Som Co, MD. In several depositions he stated his age: 36 on 26 Aug 1740, 39 on 3 Jul 1742, 42 on 18 Nov 1745, 53 on 31 May 1755, 53 on 11 Aug 1755..³ He was the son of Adrian Marshall and Elizabeth (18) Long. He married Mary Adams circa 1725.^4,3 George was named in a deed in in February 1748 at Somerset Co, MD. In Feb 1748, Robert King (II) purchased 85 acres of land in Somerset Co, MD, called "Lots Purchase" from this George Marshall, Samuel Long and his wife Sarah, and Thomas Cottingham and his wife Mary..⁵ George died before 2 October 1760 at Somerset Co, MD.³

     Mary was born circa 1706 at Marumsco Section, Som Co, MD.³ She was the daughter of Philip Adams and Ellis Taylor. She married George (77) Marshall circa 1725.^4,2
