His common name was Piper. Richard was born circa 1730 at Gargatha, Acc Co, VA. He was the son of Richard Bundick (III) and Ann Nock. He married Lucreita 'Lukey|Suke' (-----) circa 1755.2 Richard inherited land on 26 November 1766 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Piper, as the elder son of Richard Bundick III, inherited the 100 acres of land at Gargatha his father had been deeded in 1728 by Richard Bundick II, land Richard II bought in 1689. He was called 'Piper' in many local records to distinguish him from other Richard Bundicks in Accomack Parish..3 Richard sold land on 23 August 1788 at Accomack Co, VA. The deed showed that Richard Bundick and Luky his wife sold 8 acres, 3 roods and 11 perches on his land to Meshack Mears for 22 pounds..4 He made a will on 19 February 1789 at Accomack Co, VA. In it he named a wife Suke; sons George, Richard, John, William, Abbott, and Justice; daughters Susanna Bundick and Sally Bundick; grandchildren: Richard Bundick, son of his son George, Nancy Garrett, daughter of John Garrett, and Tabby Garrett, Betsy Garrett and Thomas Garrett, the children of Richard Garrett; brother John Bundick and his wife Sarah, which was the widow of James Foster.
He left his entire estate to his wife 'Suke' during her widowhood and the "use of the plantation where I live" was to go to son George Bundick for his lifetime. At George's death it was to be sold and the money to be divided between "such of my children and grandchildren as shall be alive, viz: son Richard, John, William, Abbott, Justice, Susanna Bundick, Sally Bundick and my grandchild Richard Bundick, son of my son George." He left his brother John Bundick the plantation where he now lives, "which was conveyed to me by his wife Sarah." He named his wife and son William as executors. Friend Charles West was to be the overseer. Witnesses were Moses Hinman, and William Hinman, son of Moses, and John Riggs. When 'Luke' Bundick and William Bundick qualified as executors, George Bundick was named as heir-at-law of the testator, implyng that he was the oldest son.. Richard died in 1790.5 Richard's will was probated on 29 April 1790 at Accomack Co, VA. In order of probate, George Bundick, heir at law to the testator. "Luke" (Suke?) Bundick and William Bundick qualified..5

Lucreita 'Lukey|Suke' (-----)

Lucreita was born circa 1730 at Accomack Co, VA. She married Richard 'Piper' Bundick (IV) circa 1755.1 Lucreita was named in her husband's will on 19 February 1789 at Accomack Co, VA. In her husband's will her name looks like 'Suke' which was a nickname for Susanna, but since all other records show her as as Luke or Luky which was a shortened form of Lucretia, it is believed this was her name. Her maiden name in unknown..2 Lucreita was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1800 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as 'Luke Bundick, Ricd' with 2 females over age 45 in the household and a male age 16 to 26.. Lucreita lived on 30 June 1806 at Gargatha, Acc Co, VA. It was on this date that Justice Bundick and wife Leah sold to brother William Bundick 41 acres of land "in middle woods in neighborhood of Gargatha, where Mrs. Luke Bundick now lives." No later record has been found of her..3

George was born circa 1760 at Accomack Co, VA. He was the son of Richard 'Piper' Bundick (IV) and Lucreita 'Lukey|Suke' (-----). George appears on the list of tithables at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA, for in 1783. He was shown as "Son of Piper Rich," an indication that he was married and head of a household by that year.. He married Elizabeth 'Betty' Laws on 25 August 1785 at Accomack Co, VA. Caleb Broadwater was the security on the M.L.B. of George Bundick and Betty Laws. This may have been George's 2nd marriage, as he had at least one son born circa 1778, but the name of the first wife is unknown..2 George was named in his father's will on 19 February 1789 at Accomack Co, VA. He was about age 29 at the time. His father left him, after his mother's death, what was then 91 acres of land at Gargatha for his lifetime.. George appears on the list of tithables at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA, for in 1792. He was again shown as "Geroge Bundick (of Piper).". George sold land on 25 May 1793 at Accomack Co, VA. The deed showed that George Bundick was joined by Richard Bundick, Abbott Bundick, Hezekiah Baker Junr and wife Susanna, and William Onions Junr and wife Sally, in selling their father's land at Gargatha to their brothers William and Justice Bundick. George Bundick received 50 pounds and each of the other children 6 pounds. This deed does not mention their mother's dower interest in the land, but does say that brother John "died during the lifetime of his father," and that George was the eldest son. It appears that he continued living in this area until 1800. Apparently he had moved to the Assawoman area by 1810, where he would have rented land where his wife's family lived. It should be noted that George Bundick's wife did not sign the 1793 deed with him, when he sold his father's land. This does no indicate that she was deceased, but only that she had no interest in the land and no reason to sign, since George would have inherited only a lifetime interest at his mother's death, and his wife could not have claimed a dower right to the land..3 George was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1800 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as "George Bundick, Garga" (meaning of Gargatha), age 26 to 45 (he would have been 40) and there were four other males in his household, two under age 10 and two between age 16 and 26, another proof of a former marriage. His wife was also age 26 to 45 and there were two daughters under age 10. He owned no slaves at this time.. George was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1810 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as "George Bundick, Assom" (meaning of Assawoman), over age 45 (he would have 50). He again had two sons under age 10 and one age 26 to 45. His wife was over age 45 and one daughter was under age 10 and another was age 16 to 26. He owned two slaves at this time. This George Bundick's name does not appear on a later census.. George died before 1817. His brother Justice Bundick stated in his will, written 23 Jan 1817, that his brother George was deceased by that time. No other record of the death of George Bundick has been found. He apparently died between 1810 and 1817, without a will and his estate was too small to warrant an administration. Census records show that George Bundick had 6 sons and 3 daughters. Only 3 sons are name in the records: Richard, Joseph and William..

William was named in his father's will on 19 February 1789 at Accomack Co, VA. He married Nancy Mears circa 1790.3,1 William was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1800 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as age 26 to 45 (would have been 32), with a wife of the same age, and four daughters under age 10.. William was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1810 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as age 26 to 45 (would have been 42), with three daughters, two under age 10 and one age 10 to 16.. William was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1820 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as over 45 years of age (would have been 52) as was his wife. They still had no sons, but two daughters of age 16 to 26.. William was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1830 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He and his wife were both shown as age 50 to 60 (he would have been 62).. He made a will on 6 October 1843 at Accomack Co, VA. He left land called "Conquest's" and "Taylor lot" to grandchildren, John Hope, William Hope and Elizabeth Hope, after the death of their mother, Molly Pettit. He also left them "the tract of land and mill attached called by me Hinman's" and "the store houses and lot in Drummond (Town)." He gave to daughter Molly Pettit one half his personal estate and half his slaves. He gave his grandson William B. Jacobs and his mother Nancy Mears, "my daughter," the other half of his personal estate and slaves. He left his daughter Nancy Mears "the farm whereon I now live with all the land adjoining the same" and at her death it was to go to her son William B. Jacobs. Grandson William B. Jacobs was also to inherit the farm "lying at the head of Gargatha Creek called Savage's," the house and lot and store house and lot in Modest Town and other land near Modest Town. He left his silver spectacles to daughter Nancy Mears and his wearing apparel to grandson William Hope. He gave granddaughter Mary Pettit $200. James W. Custis and grandson William B. Jacobs were named executors and William Bundick signed his will with his mark. He added a codicil on 23 Dec 1844. This dealt with requiring grandson William B. Jacobs to pay back money he had been loaned before inheriting under the will and stipulated that grandson Gillett Mears was to receive $200..4 William died on 1 February 1845 at age 76.2 His body was interred at Bundick Cem, Gargatha, Acc Co, VA. The family plot is east of Gargatha and north of Gargatha Landing Road. His also has daughters and a grandson in this plot. Since William ended up with all his father's land, this burial plot stands on land that had been in his family since 1689 and could be the final resting place of a number of his ancestors..2 William's will was probated on 24 February 1845 at Accomack Co, VA.4

Abbott was born circa 1770 at Accomack Co, VA. He was the son of Richard 'Piper' Bundick (IV) and Lucreita 'Lukey|Suke' (-----). Abbott was named in his father's will on 19 February 1789 at Accomack Co, VA. He married Betsy Taylor on 11 September 1791 at Accomack Co, VA. Isaac Taylor was the security on the M.L.B. of Abbott Bundick and Betsy Taylor..2 Abbott sold land on 25 May 1793 at Accomack Co, VA. The deed showed that Abbott Bundick was joined by George Bundick, Richard Bundick, Hezekiah Baker, Junr and wife Susanna, and William Onions, Junr and wife Sally, in selling their father's land at Gargatha to their brothers, William Bundick and Justice Bundick. Abbott's share was 6 pounds. Abbott bought no land after this..3 Abbott was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1800 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as 'Abbott Bundick, Ridd, Piper' age 26 to 45 (he would have been 30) with a wife age 16 to 26 and a son and daughter, both under age 10.. Abbott was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1810 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as age 26 to 45 (he would have been 40) with a wife of the same age. The had a son and daughter under age 10 and a son age 10 to 16.. Abbott was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1820 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. His age was shown as over 45 (he would have been 50) with a son age 10 to 16 and two daughters, one age 10 to 16 and one under age 10. This census lists the households in the order they were enumerated, rather than in their usual alphabetical order. From the names of his neighbors, it appears that he was living in the Hunting Creek area and it is guessed that he was a waterman.. Abbott was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1830 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as age 60 to 70 (he would have been 60) with a male age 20 to 30, also his wife age 50 to 60 and two females age 15 to 20.. Abbott was order to be tax free on on 25 July 1831 at Accomack Co, VA. The reason was due to "age and infirmity.".4 Abbott sold land on 20 July 1833 at Accomack Co, VA. The deed showed that Abbott Bundick and his wife Elizabeth joined James Taylor of Isaac and wife Caty in selling Edmund Parks 4.5 acres for $18, described as "land Edmund Parks purchased of Joseph Melson." This is the last record that has been bound of Abbott Bundick. He apparently died without a will or administration between 1833 and 1840, when his name does not appear in the census..5 Abbott died in 001.

Justice was born circa 1772 at Accomack Co, VA. He was the son of Richard 'Piper' Bundick (IV) and Lucreita 'Lukey|Suke' (-----). Justice was named in his father's will on 19 February 1789 at Accomack Co, VA. Justice bought land on 25 May 1793 at Accomack Co, VA. The deed showed that Justice Bundick and his brother William bought 40.5 acres of their father's land from their other brothers and sisters. He and his wife Leah sold this to his brother William in 1806..2 He married Leah Laws circa 1795.3 Justice bought land on 18 May 1800 at Accomack Co, VA. The deed showed that Justice Bundick bought 46.25 acres near his father's land for 3 pounds 10 shillings per acre, from William Parramore Junr and wife Margaret..4 Justice sold land on 30 June 1806 at Accomack Co, VA. He sold the land he bought from William Parramore to Samuel Crippen for 470 pounds, described as "where said Justice now resides.".5 Justice bought land on 30 June 1806 at Accomack Co, VA. The deed showed that he bought 60 acres for 700 pounds from Samuel Crippen, described as "land on the head waters of Gargatha Creek," bound on the east by the creek and on the west by the main county road. This property contained a water grist mill on the creek..5 Justice bought land on 6 April 1815 at Accomack Co, VA. The deed showed that he bought 38 acres, 1 rood, 5.5 perches by survey, from John Teackle for $574.26, land that joined his other land on the west. Since the main county road was then the old stage coach road or what is now known as the sea side road, it appears Justice Bundick's land was east of Gargatha and south of present-day Gargatha Landing Road..6 He made a will on 23 January 1817 at Accomack Co, VA. Justice Bundick owned 98 acres when he wrote his will. He left his entire estate to his wife Leah for her widowhood. It was then to go to his daughter Betsy Blackstone, but if she should die without issue, her husband, William Blackstone, was to have the use of it until he died or remarried. The whole estate was then to be sold, "my negros excepted," and the proceeds were to be equally divided between "Harriet White, daughter of my deceased sister-in-law Lacey White" (Lacy Laws had married James White in 1801), "Hetty Baker, daughter of my deceased sister Sufsannah Baker," William Bundick, son of my deceased brother George Bundick" and "George Onions, son of my sister Sally Onions.". Justice died in 1818.3 Justice's will was probated on 26 October 1818 at Accomack Co, VA.
