     In his will, dated 18 Jan 1787, Robert James named a wife Mary; sons William James and David James (under age); and daughters Elizabeth, Nancy and Mary. To wife during her widowhood all my lands and water grist mill. To son William 200 acres on the north side of my plantation where I now live, also my water grist mill. To son David (under age) plantation which I bought of George Colony. Should unborn child be a boy I give said child the residue on the south side of the plantation where I now live, but if a girl, or being a boy should die before arriving at 21 years in the life time of my son David, and if said child should be a boy and my son David should die before he comes to age 21 in the life time of my now unborn child, he being a boy, then after the death of my said son David my said child the plantation I purchased of George Colony and which I have above devised to my son David. Wife to bring up and educate my children. Wife Mary and friend George Savage executors. Witnesses were Thomas Evans and Thomas Holt (Acc Co Wills &c., 1784-87, p. 378).      In his will, written 19 Jun 1783, William Broadwater named a wife Comfort; sons William, John, Ephraim and Henry (under 21) Broadwater; and daughters Mary, Ann, and Susanna Broadwater. To wife Comfort Broadwater all her estate she had before I married her. Aforesaid children residual legatees. Son William and wife Comfort executors. Witnesses were Jacob Broadwater and William Broadwater (Acc Co Wills, 1780-84, p. 388). William was born circa 1722 at Accomack Co, VA. He was the son of William Broadwater and Bridget (-----). He married Comfort (-----) circa 1745.2 William was living on 1 November 1773 at Accomack Co, VA.1 William died in 1783.3 William's will was probated on 26 August 1783 at Accomack Co, VA.3
