     Amanda was born circa 1869 at Smith Island, Acc Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of William John Stant and Rachel E. Marshall. Amanda was listed with her father in the census of in 1870 at St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Amanda Stant, age 1 with her father, William Stant, age 23. They were both in HH#LM1412 headed by John Marshall, age 59 and a sailor. (Note: Her mother Rachel, who had just died in April, was a daughter ot John Marshall.).²

     Wesley was born circa 1873 at Somerset Co, MD. He was the son of William John Stant and Sarah Emily Ashmead. He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1880 at Somerset Co, MD.

     Francis was born circa 1916. He was the son of Elwood M. Stant. Francis died in 1967.¹ His body was interred at Ft. Myers, FL.¹

     In his will, written 20 Mar 1775, John Hinman named a daughter Bethany Hinman, who was a residual legatee. He also named Susanna Riggs, but no relationship was mentioned.
