     According to the Acc Register of Deaths, Benjamin Marshall died 25 Mar 1887 at age 27. This would put his birth circa 1860. However, the Pen. Ent. of 2 Apr 1887 showed a Frank Marshall son of Mr. James W. Marshall, aged 18 years, died Friday 30th ult., near Sanford. It seems odd that 2 of James' sons would have died so close together and not have been mentioned in the paper or there being two Acc death records. The assumption is that Benjamim and Francis were the same person, being named Benjamin Francis Marshall. The 1860 Census shows a Benjamin and the 1870 Census shows a Francis and not a Benjamin, which would tend to prove this theory. Benjamin was born on 1 October 1859 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of James W. 'Jim' Marshall and Olivia S. 'Levie' Thomas. He was baptized on 24 June 1860.¹ He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.² Benjamin died on 25 March 1887 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA, at age 27.³ Conflicting evidence states that he died on 30 March 1887.⁴

     Cora was born circa 1867 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of James W. 'Jim' Marshall and Olivia S. 'Levie' Thomas. She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1870 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² She married William Hance Byrd Sr. on 8 December 1887 at Temperanceville, Acc Co, VA. He was a 28 year old oysterman and she was age 18. He was born and living in Crisfield, MD and she was born and living in Acc Co, VA. They were married by Montcalm Oldham..¹ Cora was living in 1933 at Crisfield, Som Co, MD.³

     Conflicting evidence states that May was born on 14 September 1888.² May was born on 14 September 1889 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of John Day Marshall and Matilda Ann 'Tillie' Miles. She married (-----) Brustedt circa 1919.^2,3 May died on 26 December 1920 at age 31.² Her body was interred at Miles North Cem, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.²

     Laura was born in March 1892 at Virginia.³ She was the daughter of John Day Marshall and Matilda Ann 'Tillie' Miles. She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1900 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.⁴ Laura was living in 1900 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.³

     (-----) was living at Atlantic City, NJ.¹ (-----) was born circa 1870. He married Matilda Ann 'Tillie' Miles circa 1895.² (-----) was named in a deed in on 18 August 1913 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹

     Mary was listed with her parents in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Mary J. Justice, age 2/12 in HH#937 heded by Samuel L. Justice, a 27 year old sailor with real estate valued at $500..¹ Mary was born circa 1850 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel L. Justice and Rose Anne Miles. Mary died circa 1855. Mary J. Jusitice must have died before 1860, as she was not found in the 1860 Acc Co Census..

     Virginia was born on 20 July 1855 at Guilford, Acc Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel L. Justice and Rose Anne Miles.      Conflicting evidence states that Franklin was born on 18 May 1855.² Franklin was born on 20 July 1855 at Guilford, Acc Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Samuel L. Justice and Rose Anne Miles. He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.³ He married Caroline S. (-----) circa 1880.^2,4 Franklin died on 24 February 1933 at age 77.² His body was interred at Liberty Cem, Parksley, Acc Co, VA.²

     The existance of this Baby Miles is based on the 1910 Census which showed Lena has having had 3 children born and only 2 living. Baby died circa 1902 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA. Baby was born circa 1902 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA. He was the son of Moody Kellam Miles Sr. and Eveline 'Eva Lena' Lewis. His body was interred at Miles North Cem, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.²

     Fountain Phillips died at home at Saxis, Monday, 11 Jun 1928, of paralysis, aged 51 years. He was buried at Groton's Cemetery. He was survived by 2 daughters: Mrs. Raymond Ardis of Gibbstown, NJ, and Miss Margaret Phillips of Saxis; 2 sons and 2 sisters (Pen. Ent., 16 Jun 1928). Another list of survivors - 4 duaghters: Miss Margaret Phillips, Mrs. Raymond Ardis, Mrs. Florence Drewer, Mrs. Zora Miles; 2 sons: Lester and Gordy Phillips (E.S. News, 15 Jun 1928). Two of the daughters, Florence and Zora, listed were actually sisters. Fountain was employed at as a Carpenter/Oystmn. Fountain was born in May 1878 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Levin Thomas Phillips and Margaret J.D. 'Maggie' Groton. Fountain was confirmed at age 21, on 15 October 1899 at Meth Ch, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1900 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ He married Mettie F. Lewis on 25 December 1901 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.³ He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1910 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.⁴ Fountain died on 11 June 1928 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA, at age 50.⁵ His body was interred at Groton's Cem, Hallwood, Acc Co, VA.⁵

     Hattie Phillips must have died before 1903 as John W. Marshall was listed as widowed on his second marriage. Hattie was born in April 1881 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Levin Thomas Phillips and Margaret J.D. 'Maggie' Groton. She married John W. Marshall on 22 June 1899 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1900 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² Hattie died before 1903.³

     Pvt. James White of the US Army, who is stationed at Fort George Meade, MD, is spending a few days with his mother, Mrs. Cassie White, and other relatives (Pen. Ent., 23 Jun 1944). James was born in 1920.² He was the son of James Monroe 'Monte' White and Cassie A. Martin. James was a member of the armed forces serving at US Army, World War II.² James was living in 1956 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.³ James died in 1986.² His body was interred at Ellis Cem, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.²

     Hattie was born circa 1903 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Fountain B. Phillips and Mettie F. Lewis. She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1910 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ She married Raymond Ardis on 24 December 1921 at MD-VA Line, Wor Co, MD.² Hattie was living in 1932 at New Jersey.³

     Lester Phillips died 16 Nov 1932. Survivors included 2 sisters, 1 brother and a grandmother, all of who were listed (Pen. Ent., 26 Nov 1932). Lester Phillips, aged 27 and a sailor of Saxis, died in the Marine Hospital (Baltimore?). Funeral services were by Rev. Fulcher with interment in Groton's Cemetery. Survivors were listed (E.S. News, 25 Nov 1932). Lester was born circa 1905 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Fountain B. Phillips and Mettie F. Lewis. He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1910 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² Lester died on 16 November 1932.³ His body was interred at Groton's Cem, Hallwood, Acc Co, VA.⁴

     Margaret was born in 1908 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Fountain B. Phillips and Mettie F. Lewis. She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1910 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.³ She married Newman Wallace circa 1930.⁴ Margaret was living in 1932 at Wachapreague, Acc Co, VA.¹ Margaret died in 1980.² Her body was interred at Wachapreague Cem, Acc Co, VA.²

     (-----) was born circa 1901 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Harvey Anderson Drewer and Florence Temple Phillips. (-----) died circa 1902.¹

     Rachel was born circa 1852 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Planner W. Crockett and Polly Crockett. She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at Onancock, Acc Co, VA.³ She married (-----) Jones circa 1870.⁴ She married Robert A. Marshall on 5 November 1882 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ Rachel died in 1892 at Accomack Co, VA.²

     Bettie was born on 24 September 1875 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of William W. Mister and Rachel Jane Evans. She was baptized in August 1876.² She married Robert A. Marshall on 29 February 1897 at Worcester Co, MD.³ Bettie was on the in 1898 roll of the at Meth Ch, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.⁴ She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1910 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.⁵ Bettie died on 8 September 1918 at age 42.⁴ Her body was interred at Marshall Cem, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.⁶

     He is listed as "Walter" Linton on his 1918 Northampton Co marriage record and on his tombstone. He is listed as "Waldon" in the 1920 Saxis census and as "Walton B." on his son's 1945 Northampton Co marriage record. Walton was born in 1898 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of Columbus Linton and Rosie Gertrude Smith. He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1900 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.³ Walton was living in 1918 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ He married Ethel Mae Long on 25 December 1918 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ Walton died in 1970.¹ His body was interred at Cape Charles Cem, N'hamp Co, VA.²
