John was born in 1600 at Maidstone, Co Kent, England. He was aged 16 in the 1619 Visitation of Kent. His age was shown as 30 in Sep 1634 and as 37 in Jan 1636/7, placing his birth between 1600 and 1604..1,2 He was the son of John Fisher (I) and Benetta Dering. He was baptized on 7 March 1602.3 John was living in February 1624 at Eastern Shore, VA. It was on this date that he was listed in the census as on the Eastern Shore, but was missed in the muster of 1624/5. His first cousin, Capt. William Epes, son of John Epes and his wife Thomazine Fisher of Ashford, Kent, was commander of the Eastern Shore plantations in Nov. 1623. John Fisher was agent for Capt. Epes' interests after the Captain left the shore in the late 1620s. He made two depositions about Epes' land, one, 8 Sep 1634, as age 30 and another 1 Jan 1636/7, as aged 37 or thereabouts. In the first of these he is called a kinsman of Espes. He came to the colony on the "Ann" (per Dr. Bill Burton)..1 He married Elizabeth (-----) circa 1630 at Northampton Co, VA.4 John was named as an heir on 7 November 1639 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that the will of William Brian was probated and left the remainder of his estate to "Goodman Fisher and he to see me layd in the ground like a man.".3 He made a will on 4 December 1639 at Northampton Co, VA. He named a wife Elizabeth and sons John, Stephen and Phillipp. He left his wife Elizabeth his moveable estate, his man servant and hoggs. He left his son John Fisher one cow and 2 yearling heifers and, when of age, the 150 acre planatation which I now hold. Stephen got one cow and Phillipp got one calfe. Witnesses were Henry Armytradinge, Robert Kendall and Phillipp Chapman. By 1646 the orphans' cattle were in the custody of Richard Bayley. In 1654 Richard "Baily" is father-in-law (step-father) of Stephen Fisher aged 18..5 John died in 1640 at Northampton Co, VA.5 John's will was probated on 23 March 1640 at Northampton Co, VA.5

Phillip Fisher offered to keep Rebecca Fisher the orphan of Stephen (N'hamp Co Orders, 1657-64, p. 110). His common name was Phillip. Phillip was born in 1637 at Northampton Co, VA. His age was shown to be 29 in Sep 1666..2 He was the son of John (1) Fisher (II) and Elizabeth (-----). Phillip was named in his father's will on 4 December 1639 at Northampton Co, VA.3 Phillip was named in his sister's will on 3 June 1658 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as my brother (brother-in-law) in the will of Rebecca Fisher..4 He married Elizabeth Maddox before 1660 at Northampton Co, VA. Elizabeth was the eldest daughter of Alexander Maddox..5 Phillip was living on 12 June 1661 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date taht he was named in his father-in-law (step-father), Richard Bayly's will. Bayly left his son-in-law (step-son) Philip Fisher's daughter a ew lamb. Bayly also left Rebecca Fisher the daughter of Stephen Fisher decesased a ew lamb. Philip Fisher was also a witness to Bayly's will along with Edward Moore and John Fawset..6 Phillip was living on 14 February 1666. It was on this date that Phillip Fisher and Rowland Baugh witnessed the will of John Williams, of Accomack, at the upper end of Nassawadox Creek. Williams named only a wife Frances..7 Phillip was living on 26 February 1699 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that Henry Gascoigne named Capt. Phillip Fisher as his grandfather in his will..8 He made a will on 9 December 1701 at Northampton Co, VA. He was referred to as Gentleman and the elder. He named a wife Elizabeth, 3 sons: John, Thomas and Phillip, 6 daughters: Mary Smith, Anne Gascoigne, Bridget Bradford, Tamer Hunt, Sarah Michael and Rebecca Fisher, and 2 grandsons: Thomas Smith and Harman Gascoigne. Son John received land called Thomas' Field on Joyners Branch. Son Thomas recieved remainder of Northampton land including the home plantation bounded by the land given son John and by "Nuswaddox" Creek. Son Philip received 300 acres at "Masongoes" Branch in Acc Co. The 3 sons received, after their mother's death, 400 acres of marsh and humocks at the mouth of Muddy Creek in Acc Co. Son Thomas received his mill, still, pistols, holsters, rapier and his cane. Daughters Mary Smith and Anne Gascoigne received during their lives a 150 acre island called "Burntwood Island" near the mouth of Muddy Creek in Acc Co, and then to their two sons Thomas Smith and Harman Gascoigne. Daughters Mary Smith, Bridget Bradford, Anne Gascoigne, Tamer Hunt and Rebecca Fisher got 20 shilling each. Daughter Rebecca received 2 mares at William Bradford's. Daughter Sarah Michael got 12 shillings. Wife Elizabeth was the residual legatee and executrix. Witnesses were Jacob Johnson, Alexander Bagwell, Peter Grice, Obedience Johnson and Richard Bayly Jr. In probate he was further identified as Capt. Phillip Fisher..9 Phillip died in 1703 at Northampton Co, VA.10 Phillip's will was probated on 1 March 1703 at Northampton Co, VA.10

Elizabeth Mattocks was named in her father, Alexander Mattocks', will written 10 Jan 1659/60, as my eldest daughter Elizabeth Fisher wife of Philip Fisher. Since it noted "if she dies without issue, then her share to be divided by my other children," it is assumed that her and Philip Fisher's children were born after Jan 1659/60 (N'hamp Co Deeds, Wills, etc., 1657-66, p. 64). Elizabeth was born circa 1640 at Northampton Co, VA. She was the daughter of Alexander Maddox (I) (Mattocks?). She married Capt. Phillip (4) Fisher (I) before 1660 at Northampton Co, VA. Elizabeth was the eldest daughter of Alexander Maddox..2 Elizabeth was living on 9 December 1701 at Northampton Co, VA.3
