Walter Jameson (I)

     In his will, written 29 Sep 1772, Walter Jameson named a wife Sarah and Walter and James Jameson (probable sons). He left his wife Sarah all the negroes that came by her, and in case of her death to be divided between the 2 boys she had by him, and should they die without issue to be divided between his other children he had by his 2nd wife. Lands on the Western Shore to be divided between Walter and James Jameson. Personal property to be divided among all his children. Friend Edward Ker and Samuel Heath Jameson executors. Not witnessed. Proved by James Henry and Walter Hatton (Acc Co Wills 1772-77, p. 69). In 1763 Walter Jameson, Americus Scarburgh, Thomas Jacob and Peter Hack witnessed the will of Thomas Teackle. Americus Scarburgh was his wife Sarah's brother. Walter was born circa 1725. He married (1w|o Walter Jameson) (-----) circa 1745.1 He married (2w|o Walter Jameson) (-----) circa 1750.1 He married Sarah Scarburgh after 19 February 1764.1 Walter died in March 1773.2 Walter's will was probated on 31 March 1773 at Accomack Co, VA.2

     Dorothy was born on 10 February 1730 at Accomack Co, VA.2 She was the daughter of Mitchell [35] Scarburgh I and Dorothy Wainhouse. She married Edmund (142) Bayly (III) circa 1754.3 Dorothy was named in her husband's will on 18 December 1756 at Accomack Co, VA. She was named as wife Dorothy Bayley in the will of Edmund Bayley and at probate she was named as Dorothy Wainhouse Bayley, widow of the testator as she qualified to settle the estate..4 She married John Custis after 1757.5 Dorothy was named in her father's will on 27 September 1762 at Accomack Co, VA. She was named as daughter Dorothy Wainhouse Custis and it was noted that "out of my Dorothy's part the bill I have of her last husband Edmund Bayley." The codicil of 22 Mar 1763 stated that Dorothy Wainhouse Custis, had died since the writing of the will and her share was to go to wife Dorothy..5 Dorothy died in September 1762 at Accomack Co, VA, at age 32.6

Francis Wainhouse (I)

     In 1683, a "Fra: Wainhouse" witnessed the will of Dorothy Jordan of "Ockahanock" along with Thomas Teackle and John James (Acc Co Wills & Deeds, 1676-1690(vi), p. 516). In 1704, Francis Wainhouse and Thomas Hall were securities on the administeration of Peter Watson's estate to his widow Ann Simkins, relict of William Simkins (Acc Co Orders, 1703-1709, p. 33). In 1707, a Francis Wainhouse, Jr., which could have been his son, witnessed the will of Cornelius Harman along with Timothy Truelove (Acc Co Wills &c., 1692-1715(xi), p. 434). In 1708, "Fra: Wainhouse," Thomas Stringer, and Luke Layler witnessed the will of Robert Watson (Acc Co Wills &c., 1692-1715 (xi), p. 462). Also in 1708, Francis Wainhouse Jr. and Stephen Waltham witnessed the will of George Hazlop (Ibid, p. 470). In 1709, Francis Wainhouse, Richard Kellam, William Nicholson and Luke Layler witnessed the will of John Shephard (Ibid, p. 482). In 1717, Franics Wainhouse, Arthur Upshur, John Savage, Arthur Layor and Robert Miliken were named to divide the estate of Simon Foscue (Acc Co Wills, Deeds &c., 1715-1729 vol. i, p. 95). In his will, written 7 Mar 1719/20, Francis Wainhouse of Occahannock Creek, named a wife Margaret; a daughter Dorothy Scarburgh; a son-in-law Michel (Mitchell) Scarburgh; grandsons Francis Wainhouse, under age, and Michel (Mitchell) Scarburgh; and a grandaughter Margaret Wainhouse. He left his wife Margaret land and plantation for life and then to grandson Francis Wainhouse and for want of heirs to grandson Michel Scarburgh and grandaughter Margaret Wainhouse. To Thomas Godding 10 L if he comes to claim it within 3 years after my death, if not to my grandchildren Francis and Margaret Wainhouse. Executors wife Margaret and son-in-law Michel Scarburgh. Witnesses James Hilton, Arthur Lsyler, Jonas Beloat, and Richard Kitson (Acc Co Wills, Deeds &c., 1715-29, vol. i, p. 256). Francis was born circa 1660. He married Margaret (-----) circa 1690.1 Francis was living in 1720 at Occahannock Cr, Acc Co, VA.2 Francis died in April 1720.2 Francis's will was probated on 3 May 1720 at Accomack Co, VA.2
