     According to the deposition of Tabitha Hill, formerly Tabitha Browne, and Matilda West on 2 Jun 1708, Edmund Browne, son of Devorax Browne and Tabitha (Scarburgh) Browne, his wife, born 1660 and died in Turkey in 1678, being taken in captivity, being 18 years old or thereabouts when he died. Capt. John Martin reporting that he died, and Timothy Low saying he carried the said Browne to his grave (Acc Co Wills &c., 1692-1715 (xi), p. 440). Edmund was born in 1660 at Accomack Co, VA.1 He was the son of Devereux Browne and Tabitha [9] Scarburgh. He married Martha Davis circa 1677 at Newington Butts, Co Surrey, England.2 Edmund died in 1678 at Turkey.1

He was named as brother Edmund Bayly in the will of Richard Bayly Jr. and was named as one of the overseers..1 He married Mary (12) Scarburgh circa 1717.2 He made a will on 6 February 1718 at Accomack Co, VA. Edmund Bayly named a wife Mary; daughters Elizabeth Crippen and Tabitha; son Edmund (under age); and a nephew Wittington Bayly. He left all his land on the seaside containing 800 acres to his son Edmund and for want of heirs to unborn child, if a boy, but if a girl he gave 1/2 the personal estate given by this will to his son Edmund to the said child. Should his wife not be with child & his son died without issue, he gave 350 acres to his daughter Elizabeth and the remaining part of his land to his daughter Tabitha. To wife Mary all her estate that belonged to her deceased husband Charles Bayly and all legacies left her by her deceased husband. Edmund Scarburgh, Morris Shephard and Henry Scarburgh to inventory his estate. Son Edmund to be under the guide and direction of his uncle Morris Shepeard. Wife and son Edmund were executors. Witnesses were Henry Scarburgh, Morris Shepard and Seb: Cropper..3 Edmund died in March 1718.4 Edmund's will was probated on 2 April 1718 at Accomack Co, VA.4

To son Elias Taylor land on Assawoman Creek containing 850 acres , 600 acres being granted me by patent dated 1664, & the remaining 250 being part of 1050 acres purchased of Col. John Stringer, remainder to his heirs, with remainder to my son William Taylor, with remainder to my daughter Winefred, formerly wife of Peter Parker, deceased To son Elias 450 acres, being the South end of said 1050 acres between Geangoteage & Assawoman Branches. To daughter Winefred, formerly wife to Peter Parker, deceased To son William land on the seaboard side between Geangoteage & Assawoman Branches, containing 800 acres, being the northermost part of said 1050 acres, also 450 acres in the woods.
