     The assumption that James' parents were William McCready Sr. and his wife Sarah Bunting is based on Acc Census of 1810, 1820, 1840, 1850 and 1860. According to the 1850 Census James was born in VA in 1805 and according to the 1860 Census he was born in VA in 1808. Going back to the 1810 Census, there were only 2 McCready families in Acc Co, Stephen and William "McCrady" of Acc Parish, both on page 86 of the original census. Stephen's family listed only himself (born 1784-94) and a white female (born 1765-1784). William's family listed himself (born 1765-1784) and a white male (born 1800-1810), which is assumed to be James. William's family also included two white females. One assumed to be his wife (born 1765-1784) and the other assumed to be a daughter (born 1800-1810). Going to the 1820 Census there is only one McCready family, that being William's of Acc Parish, on page 27 of the original census. This includes William himself (born 1775-1794), two white males (born 1810-1820) one of these is assumed to be James (b.c. 1810) and the other his brother William Jr. (born 1810-1820). The two white females (born 1775-1794 and 1810-1820) match the 1810 census ages of his wife and daughter.      John was born in 1864 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of John W. Dennis Sr. and Eliza A. (-----). He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1880 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.³ John was living after 1880 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.⁴ He married Olivia E. Marshall on 20 June 1884 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as John Dennis Jr., a 20 year old oysterman, born and living in Acc Co, the son of John Sr. & Eliza Dennis and she was shown as Oliva E. Marshall, age 18, born and living in Acc Co, the daughter of Sam'l Marshall and Armina Bonnewell. They were married at Sykes Island by R.B. Beadles. According to the Marsh Market news Mr. John Dennis and Miss Olivia Marshall were married on Saxes' Island on Sunday, 18 May 1884, by Rev. R.B. Beadles (Pen. Ent., 31 May 1884). However, Acc Co records show 20 Jun 1884..⁵ He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1910 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.⁶ John died on 24 May 1942 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA. Mr. John W. Dennis died at Saxis on 24 May 1942, aged 66 years (which does not agree with tombstone or marriage record), survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 29 May 1942). Services were conducted at the residence on 25 May by Rev. Forrest with interment in the Dennis Cemetery, Saxis. Survivors included 3 daughters, 2 sisters and 1 brother, all of who were listed (E.S.      Mrs. Effie H. Reid, wife of Isaac H. Reid, died at home at Saxis on 2 May 1962. She was the daughter of "Carlton" and Sarah Thomas, born at Saxis, and a member of the Saxis Methodist Church. Survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 3 May 1962). Evidently there was a typographical error in the obituary, as her father's name was "Corbin" Thomas. Euphemia was born circa 1878 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Corbin C. Thomas and Sarah W. Marshall. She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1880 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² She married Isaac Henry Read on 2 October 1895 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ Euphemia was on the in 1900 roll of the at Meth Ch, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.³ She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1900 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.^4,5 Euphemia was living in 1957.⁶ Euphemia died on 2 May 1962 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.⁷

     Isaac H. Reed was the head of the 1900 Saxis HH#481, with his wife, Effie, and the 1910 Saixs HH#56, with his wife and daughter Delma, age 5. Mr. Isaac Henry Reid (Reed) died at his home at Saxis on 30 Oct 1964, aged 92 years. He was the son of the late John and Elizabeth Reid, born in Stockton, MD, a 50 year resident of Saxis. Burial was in the Justice Cemetery, Saxis. Survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 5 Nov 1964). Isaac was born in 1872 at Stockton, Worcester Co, MD.² He was the son of John L. Read and Elizabeth H. 'Eliza' Lambertson. He married Euphemia H.      Mrs. Annie M. Lewis, wife of Darius T. Hall, of Jenkins Bridge, died on 15 Jun 1956, aged 75 years. She was the daughter of Raymond and Susan Parks Lewis, a native of Sanford. Survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 21 Jun 1956). Annie was born on 10 June 1880 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Raymond R. Lewis Sr. and Susan Elizabeth Parks. She married Darius Thomas Hall on 4 May 1898 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA.      Mrs. Sallie Elizabeth (Byrd) Hall was born at Miona, Acc Co, VA, 15 Mar 1852, and died at her home near Withams, VA, 4 Sep 1923. Mrs. Hall became a Christian at the age of 16, and became a member of Bethel Baptist Church, remaining a member of that church until the church at Makemie Park was organized, and then moved her membership there, and thus remained until she moved to the great Church Triumphant. She suffered with a lingering illness. A friend, in speaking of her, said, "It was my privilege to visit her several times during the latter part of her life and have my own faith strengthened by her testimony to the hope that was in her." Toward the last she constantly affirmed that she did not want to live and continue in pain, for it was all right with her soul and she wanted to go home and be with God. She leaves to mourn her of her immediate family, her husband, Mr. Anthony L. Hall, one son, Mr. Eslie A. Hall, and four grandchildren, who, on account of the death of their mother she reared from infancy. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. L.D. Stables in Downing's Church and the remains were buried in Greenwood (J.W. Taylor) Cemetery, were they await the resurrection morn (Pen. Ent., 29 Sep 1923). Sarah was born on 15 March 1852 at Miona, Acc Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Samuel R. Byrd and Mary Ann Elizabeth Taylor. She was shown as Sally Hall, age 51 and keeping house..⁷ Sarah died on 9 February 1917 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD. Sallie (Drummond) Hall died at the home of her son-in-law, Mr. I.J. Davis, in Pocomoke City on Friday afternoon, 9 Feb 1917. Mrs. Hall was the oldest resident of that city, having several months ago passed the 96th year of her age. She was a former Virginian and was the widow of the late Thomas Hall, who for a number of years resided near Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA, and who died 31 years ago. She was a daughter of the late Spencer Drummond and Susan Fletcher Drummond, also of Acc Co, VA. The funeral occured at the home on Sunday and interment was made in St. Mary's Cemetery in Pocomoke, survivors were listed (Pen. Bundick..¹ She married Henry Washington Knight on 18 July 1886 at Accomack Co, VA. He was a 54 year old widowed farmer and she was age 49 and single. They were married by J. E. Bundick. According to the newspaper, they were married at Dawson Knight's. According to the Peninsula Enterprise of 31 Jul 1886, Mr. Henry W. Knight and Mrs. Nancy Stant, were married at the residence of Mr. Dawson Knight, on 18 Jul 1886, with the Rev. John E. Bundick officiating. At night a party of a hundred or more gave them a rousing serenade..^4,3 Nancy died on 12 October 1905 at Marsh Market, Acc Co, VA. Mrs. Nancy Knight, a well known lady of Marsh Market, died at her home last Thursday, 12 Oct 1905, aged 75 years. Her funeral was held on Saturday, conducted by the Rev. L.      Eli was born circa 1785 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He married Lucinda Lucas on 6 April 1829 at Accomack Co, VA. Jacob Bird of Nathaniel was the security on the M.L.B. of Eli Cheshire and Lucinda Lucas of Wm..^2,3 Eli was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Eli Chesser the head of HH#1050, a 65 year old laborer with real estate valued at $50. Listed with him were the following Chessers: Lucinda, age 44; John, a 17 year old laborer; Elizabeth E., age 10; and Sally A., age 6.      Henry was born on 26 February 1906 at Skin Point, Acc Co, VA. He was the son of Henry Thomas Davis Sr. and Elizabeth Jane Gladding. Henry died on 9 March 1959 at P.G. Hospital, Salisbury, Wic Co, MD, at age 53.

     Preston was born circa 1910. Preston was living in 1935 at Rehobeth, Somerset Co, MD.¹

     On 7 May 1853, (William) Thomas Marshall son of Robert, bought 1.5 acres for $185 from Avery Ellis and his wife Elizer, all of Saxes Island. It was bounded on the North by Stephen Linton, on the East by Edward Pecor, on the south by Absalom Lewis, and on the West by Henry C. Linton (Acc Deeds No. 39, 1853-1855, p. 11). It was also probably him, listed as "Thomas W. Marshall," who, on 18 Jan 1858, bought from John T. Lewis, 2 acres on Saxes Island for $78.81, bounded by Edward Pecar and others (Acc Deeds No. 42, 1858-1860, p. 45). According to the Acc Co Register of Deaths, he died on 5 Jun 1890 at age 35, putting his birth at 1855. The 1860 Census shows his age as 4, putting his birth at 1856. His marriage puts his birth at 1858. Oswald was employed at as a Farm laborer. Oswald was born circa 1856 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of William Thomas Marshall and Emmaline Marshall. He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.² He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1870 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.³ He married Mary Jane Linton on 18 January 1880 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ He married Mary V.      Mary was born circa 1860 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of George Linton and Ann 'Nancy' Colonna. Mary was living in 1879 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She married Esau C. Kellam on 17 September 1879 at Pocomoke Neck, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Esau C. Kellam, a 36 year old teacher, the son of Jno. & Betsy Kellam, and she was shown as Mary E.
