     Clarence E. Byrd, son of Johannas F. and Mary Martin Byrd, born 26 Aug 1889 in Atlantic, VA. He moved to Maryland about 3 years, attended Worcester Schools and graduated from Pocomoke City High. In 1907 he attended Goldey College and graduated in 1910. He went to New Jersy in 1911 after his mother's death and shortly after worked for Swift and Co until his death. He was an Elder of Sanford Heights Presbyterian Church and a Mason in Irvington. He was survived by his wife, Blanche Pavie Byrd, who he married on 21 Feb 1917. Other survivors listed included 2 daughters and an Aunt. Funeral services were at the Terrills Funeral Home with interment at Pestland Memorial Park (E.S. News, 14 Aug 1942).
