     Lucretia was born circa 1734. She was the daughter of Major Byrd and Sarah (-----). She married Charles Broadwater circa 1750.¹

     In 1751, Major Bird died intestate, leaving a widow Sarah and his land was later found in the possession of two women (his daughters) Elizabeth Bird and Lucretia Bird who later became the wife of Charles Broadwater. Between the bayside road and Muddy Creek is a rather old homestead known as the Dr. Broadwater Place (Whitelaw, p. 1207). On 30 Dec 1778, Charles Broadwater witnessed the will of Nathaniel Bird Sr. (Acc Co Wills &c., 1777-80, p. 514). On 22 Nov 1781, Charles Broadwater witnessed the the will of Oliver Bell (Acc Co Wills, 1788-94, p. 447). Charles was born circa 1728 at Accomack Co, VA. He was the son of Elias Broadwater and Phebe (-----). He married Lucretia Byrd circa 1750.² Charles was living on 28 January 1751 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Charles died after 1781.³

The relationship was not shown, but the assumption is that she was his sister, as he left her his housman lands, called my Bloxom land & 10 acres adjoining the Bloxom land called the Taylor land & at her death or marriage, then to her son James Thorns.      Osburn was born circa 1814 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of John E. Byrd Jr. and Elizabeth 'Betsy' Poulson. He married Mary Ann Elizabeth Taylor circa 1845.² Osburn died in 1846. One of John Bird, Junr,s two sons, Osburn J. Bird, died intestate by 31 August 1846, when George P. Bird was named to administer his estate (Orders 1845-1848, p. 185). No record of' Osburn J. Bird' s marriage has been found. A widow bought items at his personal property sale, as did his brother, George P. Bird; his cousin, John W. Bird; uncle Eburn Bird; and mother, Betsy Bird (Inventories 1846-1849, p. 221). Mary E. Bird, widow, married :Samuel R. Bird, son of Daniel T. Bird, by bond of 27 December 1847 (MLB 1847-1850, p. 2). Mary A. E. Bird sold to George P. Bird, all her dower rights in Osburn J. Bird's lands on 3 September 1854 (Deeds 1853-1855, p. 83)..¹
