     In 1669, Richard Cutler and his wife Elizabeth were listed as headrights of Ann Toft. Also in 1672 Richard was listed as a headright of Captain John West. In 1675, Richard Cutler of "Weavers" purchased 300 acres of land which was located between Onley and Tasley. That is where he made his home. He also owned land in Onancock. In 1733 he devised this 300 acres to this sons George and William. He devised to his son Richard the 150 acres which he had purchased from Charles Leatherbury in 1704. To his son John he devised the 100 acres he had purchased from Wm. Lewis in 1717 together with his lot in Onancock which he had purchased in 1709 (Information from Gladys Elizabeth Cutler Marshall).
