Ziffie (Evans) Marshall, aged 65, was living with her youngest son, William F. Marshall, and his family in 1880. "Aunt Zippie Marshall, an elderly lady of Saxes Island, has recently been visiting her friends on the mainland. She was looking remarkably well, and was as cheerful and talkative as a young girl" (Pen. Ent., 4 Oct 1884). Her death record showed her as "Trephania Marshall" age 80, reported by an unnamed son and did not give the name of her husband. There seems little doubt but that this was Zipporah, who named a daughter Nellie after her mother. Zipporah was born in 1815 at Accomack Co, VA.2 She was the daughter of George Evans and Nellie E. Tyler. She married Zachariah 'Zac' Marshall on 20 August 1828 at Worcester Co, MD.3 Zipporah was listed with her husband in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.
