Thomas Kilman was in the 1810, 1820, and 1830 Acc Parish Census. In his will written 18 Apr 1837, Thomas "Killman" named only a wife Sally as sole heir and executrix. Witnesses were Seth A. Hinman, Teadoch Mason and Ann Whealton. At probate, Sally relinquished her right to qualify and Gillett Watson and John E. Wise of William gave bond and probated the will (Acc Co Wills 1828-1846, p. 494). Thomas was born circa 1785.1 He was the son of Mathew 'Marthey' Killmon and Comfort Ewell. Thomas was living in 1805.1 He married Sarah 'Sally' Sparrow on 8 January 1808 at Accomack Co, VA. William Taylor was the security on the M.L.B. of Thomas Kilman and Sarah Sparrow of Jobs Island. Mr. T.O. Kilmon of Painter died at his home on Sunday, 18 March, at the age of 78 years. Funeral services were held at the residence on Tuesday, 20 March, at 10 o'clock a.m. conducted by the Rev. Price. Interment was in the Wessells Cemetery. Mr. Kilmon was well known and highly respected by citizens all over the Eastern Shore. He was a gentleman of integrity, an industrious and successful farmer and until health beset him, was active in the affairs of the Shore. He resided for a number of years at Hallwood and was member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors were listed. (Obituary, E.S. News).2 His body was interred at Wessells Cem, Mears, Acc Co, VA.5

The proof that this John Killmon was a son of James Killmon Sr. and Betsy Charnock is based on the fact that James and Betsey were listed has having a son John (Hacks Neck and Its People, p. 162), this John being listed as the head of HH#1288 in the 1860 St. George's Parish census which was near John and Betsy who were in HH#1310, and John's birth circa 1825 which fits with James and Betsy's other children, and all the other John Killmon's born in this time period have otherwise been placed in other Killmon families. However, contrary to the above, John was listed in the 1860 census as being born in Ireland and all his childern were listed as being born in Maryland. John was born circa 1825 at Ireland.2 He was the son of James Killmon Sr. and Elizabeth 'Betsy' Charnock. He married Anna (-----) circa 1845.2,3 He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA.2
