Her step-mother, Mabel Pruitt Lewis, died in May 1962. A surviving sister was listed (Pen. Ent., 16 Jan 1964). Charlotte was born in 1918.¹ She was the daughter of Norman J. Lewis and Minnie Hopkins. Charlotte was living in 1948 at Hartford, CT.² Charlotte died on 8 January 1964 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD.¹

He was a 23 year old carpenter and she was age 17. They were married by W. F. Hayes..¹ He married Pamelia S. 'Amelia' Knight circa 1935.³ George died in 1940.² His body was interred at Knight's Cem, Messongo, Acc Co, VA.²

     Dawson was born in January 1842 at Messongo, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of Dunreath M. Knight and Elizabeth Marshall. Dawson was listed with another family in the cenus of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Dorsen Knight, age 9 in HH#981 headed by Wm. Knight, a 25 year old laborer. (Note: Wm. was his older brother.).³ He married Sarah Elizabeth Hall on 27 December 1865 at Accomack Co, VA. He was a 21 year old oysterman, the son of Dunreath and Elizabeth Knight and she was age 20, the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Hall. They were married by G. W. Matthews..¹ Dawson died in May 1922 at age 80.² His body was interred at Knight's Cem, Messongo, Acc Co, VA.²

     Sarah was born on 20 December 1845 at Accomack Co, VA.³ She was the daughter of Robert Hall and Elizabeth 'Betsy' Waters. Sarah was listed with her parents in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Elizabeth Hall, age 5 in HH#968 headed by Robert Hall, a 65 year old laborer..⁴ She married Dawson J. Knight Sr. on 27 December 1865 at Accomack Co, VA. He was a 21 year old oysterman, the son of Dunreath and Elizabeth Knight and she was age 20, the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Hall. They were married by G. W. Matthews..² Sarah died on 3 March 1930 at Messongo, Acc Co, VA, at age 84. Sarah Elizabeth (Hall) Knight, aged 85 years and the widow of Dawson Knight, died at the home of her son Dorsey Knight at Messongo on 3 Mar 1930. The funeral was at Hall's Chapel by Rev. L.H. Thomas, with interment in the Knight Cemetery, survivors were listed (E.S. News, 7 Mar 1930)..⁵ Her body was interred at Knight's Cem, Messongo, Acc Co, VA.³

     Frederick was born on 14 December 1925.¹ He was the son of Fred Charles Hill and Mildred Martin. Frederick died on 9 January 1987 at age 61.¹ His body was interred at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD.¹

     Mr. Warren S. Byrd and Miss Ida S. Young were married on 8 Jan 1890 at Mappsville by Rev. J.W. Ward (Pen. Ent., 18 Jan 1890). Contrary to this article, Ida's obituary said she was the daughter of Benjamim and Elizabeth Northam. Mr. Warren S. Byrd died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Austin Mason, at Mears, on 25 Mar 1950, aged 85 years. He was a member of the the Shilo Baptist Church and was buried at Bloxom Cemetery. Survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 31 Mar 1950). Warren was employed at as a Sailor. Warren was born on 7 November 1864 at Muddy Creek, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of Obed S. Byrd and Hetty C. 'Kitty' Mears. He married Ida S. Young on 8 January 1890 at Mappsville, Acc Co, VA.¹ Warren was living in 1934 at Mearsville, Acc Co, VA.³ Warren died on 25 March 1950 at Mears, Acc Co, VA, at age 85.⁴ His body was interred at Bloxom Cem, Acc Co, VA.⁵

     Ida was born in 1873.² She was the daughter of Benjamin F. Young and Elizabeth 'Betsy' Northam. She married Warren Selly Byrd on 8 January 1890 at Mappsville, Acc Co, VA.³ Ida died on 18 April 1949 at Mearsville, Acc Co, VA. Mrs. Ida S. Byrd, wife of Warren S. Byrd, died at her home at Mearsville on 18 Apr 1949, aged 75 years. She was the daughter of Benjamin [Young] and Elizabeth Northam. Survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 22 Apr 1949)..¹ Her body was interred at Bloxom Cem, Acc Co, VA.²

     Miss Ethel Byrd of Mears, VA, the daughter of W.S. Byrd, and Mr. Austin R. Mason of Hopeton, were married by C.M. Aepp on Thursday night, 27 Apr 1916 (Pen. Ent., 6 May 1916). Conflicting evidence states that Ethel was born on 9 March 1891.¹ Ethel was born on 3 April 1891 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Warren Selly Byrd and Ida S. Young. She married Austin R. Mason on 25 April 1916 at Lee Mont, Acc Co, VA.³ Ethel died on 9 June 1977 at age 86.² Her body was interred at Parksley, Acc Co, VA.²

     Austin was born on 15 January 1890 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of Otho E. Mason and Eulalia S. Parks. He married Ethel F. Byrd on 25 April 1916 at Lee Mont, Acc Co, VA.¹ Austin was living in 1950 at Mears, Acc Co, VA.³ Austin died on 3 February 1965 at age 75.² His body was interred at Parksley, Acc Co, VA.²
