Mr. Henry Mills who has been ill with tuberculosis, died Monday, 22 Aug 1921, at Roanoke, VA. He left a wife and two children (Pen. Ent., 27 Aug 1921). Henry was born on 16 January 1888 at Marion, Som Co, MD.1 He was the son of John H. Mills and Sallie J. Hall.      James Lewis of the US Army, who is stationed at Camp Blanding, FL, is spending a few days with his wife and parents, Mr. & Mrs. Carl Lewis of Saxis (Pen. Ent., 17 Mar 1944). Mrs. James Lewis received word last week that her husband, Pvt. James Lewis, of the US Army, had been wounded in the battle of Normandy. His many friends of Saxis hope the wound is very slight (Pen. Ent., 1 Sep 1944). James Carlton Lewis, aged 77 years, husband of Fairye Glenn Lewis and a lifelong resident of Saxis, died in Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD, on Tuesday, 3 Jan 1995. Born and reared on Saxis, he was the son of the late John Carlton Lewis and Myrlte Crocket Lewis. He was employed by the State of Maryland Weight and Measure Department and also was a merchant. He was a protestant and a WWII Army veteran. He was given the Army Purple Heart and was a member of Temeperanceville Masonic Lodge 121 A.F. & A.M., a member of American Legion #159 and former mayor of Saxis. Graveside services were held at Taylor Cemetery, Temperanceville, Thursday, 5 Jan 1995 at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Robert Cooper. Survivors were listed (E.S. News, 7 Jan 1995). James was born on 10 September 1917 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.1 He was the son of John Carlton 'Carl' Lewis and Myrtle Lorraine Crockett.
