Ent., 8 Dec 1944). Winston was a member of the armed forces serving at US Navy, World War II.² Winston was born circa 1908 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Edward Lee Evans and Goldie Miles.      Lovie was born on 28 June 1891 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Peter William Bonnewell and Amanda 'Mendie' Lewis. Lovie was on the in 1900 roll of the at Meth Ch, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1900 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.³ Lovie was living in 1907 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.⁴ She married Harrison J. Marshall on 22 September 1907 at MD/VA Line.⁴ Lovie died on 24 June 1981 at Hallwood, Acc Co, VA, at age 89.⁵ Her body was interred at Downing's Cem, Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.⁶

     Mr. Harrison Marshall and Miss Lovie Bonnewell, both of Saxis, were married last Sunday, 22 Sep 1907, at the MD/VA line (Acc News, 28 Sep 1907). Harrison Marshall's obituary and tombstone shows his middle initial as "J" but his Acc birth record shows "L". His tombstone shows his birth as 1884, but his Acc Birth record shows Sep 1882 and Lovie's Bible showed 5 Sep 1882. Harrison was born on 5 September 1882 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of Lewis Finney Marshall and Tryphenia A. 'Triffy' Crockett. Conflicting evidence states that Harrison was born in 1884.³ He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1900 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.⁴ He married Lovie C. Bonnewell on 22 September 1907 at MD/VA Line.⁵ He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1910 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.⁶ Harrison died on 15 July 1971 at P.G. Hospital, Salisbury, Wic Co, MD, at age 88.⁷ His body was interred at Downing's Cem, Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.³

     According to the 1870 Census, Samuel J. Marshall was born in 1863. In 1880 he was living with John W. Drewer and his wife Eliza, and his age was 16 (b.c. 1864). In 1900 he was shown as 50 (b.c. 1850), which was probably a mistake, and his wife, Annie was age 45 (b.c. 1855), and they had been married 25 years, which was probably also a mistake, as their marriage record shows that Samuel married Annie Abbott in 1885, so they had really been married only 15 years. She had given birth to 7 children, 6 were living and 6 were living with them at the time. In the 1910 Census Samuel J. was 44, (b.c. 1866), his wife was Annie, they had been married 25 years, and she had given birth to 12 children, 7 were living and 4 were living with them at the time. Sudie Hall, aged 42 and widowed and George D. Tyler, age 22 and married for 0 years, a son-in-law of Sudie (or possibly Samuel) were also living with Samuel in 1910. In 1920 Samuel was 49 (b.c. 1871) and Annie was 56 (b.c. 1864). 2 of the children were living with them. Since some of the same children are shown in 1910 as were in 1900, and some were the same in 1920 as were in 1910, it must be the same Samuel and Annie. Samuel Marshall died at Saxis, aged 69 (b.c. 1863). Survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 17 Sep 1932). Funeral services were conducted by Rev. E.T. Liddel with burial in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors included a wife, 2 duaghters, 3 sons, 2 sisters and 4 brothers, all of who were listed (E.S. News, 16 Sep 1932). Samuel was born in 1863 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Robert Marshall and Maria Spence. He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1870 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1880 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² He married Hester Annie Abbott on 10 September 1885 at Somerset Co, MD.³ Samuel was living in 1931.⁴ Samuel died on 13 September 1932 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.⁵ His body was interred at Ellis Cem, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.⁶

     Annie (Abbott) Marshall is in the 1900 Census with husband Samuel Marshall. It showed that she had given birth to 7 children and that 6 were living. The 1910 Census indicated that she had given birth to 12 children and that 7 were living. Mrs. Hester Annie Marshall, wife of Mr. Samuel Marshall, formerly of Saxis, died on 26 Mar 1939, aged 74 years, survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 31 Mar 1939). Hester's granddaughter, Margaret (Linton) Marshall, told M.K. Miles in July 1994 that her grandmother Annie was from Deal Island. Hester was born circa 1865 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She married Samuel J. Marshall on 10 September 1885 at Somerset Co, MD.¹ Hester was on the in 1898 roll of the at Meth Ch, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1900 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.³ Hester was living in 1932 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.⁴ Hester died on 26 March 1939.⁵ Her body was interred at Ellis Cem, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.⁶

     According to church records, Henry Anderton was on the Sanford roll in 1908 and 1917 and was baptised on 21 Apr 1912. Mr. Henry Anderton died Friday morning, 23 Nov 1917, at home in Sanford, of tuberculosis. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. D.W. Jackson at Sanford M.E. Church and interment was in the family cemetery. He was survived by a wife, 1 daughter, his mother and 3 brothers (their names were not listed) (Acc News, 30 Nov 1917). The location of the family cemetery is not known. His wife Lillie is buried in the Ellis Cemetery on Saxis. His common name was Henry. Isaac was born circa 1872 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of James E. Anderton and Joanna Parker. He married Lilly F. Stant on 26 December 1894 at Somerset Co, MD.² Isaac was on the in 1908 roll of the at Meth Ch, Sanford, Acc Co, VA.³ Isaac was confirmed at age at an unknown age , on 21 April 1912 at Meth Ch, Sanford, Acc Co, VA.³ Isaac died on 23 November 1917 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA.³
