     Eli was employed at as a Sailor. Eli was born circa 1840.¹ He was the son of John Conaway and Celestine (-----). He married Mary Elizabeth Sparrow circa 1860.² He married Matilda J. Sparrow on 7 January 1875 at Gloucester Co, VA.¹ Eli was living in 1875 at Baltimore, MD.¹
