     William was born on 25 July 1796 at Somerset Co, MD.¹ He married Sallie Cullen in 1827.¹ William died on 18 September 1832 at Somerset Co, MD, at age 36.¹

     Sallie was born circa 1800. She married William Cluff in 1827.¹ Sallie died on 8 September 1830.¹

     Miss Mollie S. Byrd, daughter of Johannes Byrd, and Oswald Mears were married 4 Nov 1896 at the M.E. Church Sourth, Oak Hall (Pen. Ent., 14 Nov 1896). Mary was born on 6 February 1880 at Hallwood, Acc Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Johannas Littleton Byrd and Elizabeth Eleanor 'Lizzie' Parks. She married Oswald S. Mears on 4 November 1896 at Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.² Mary was living in 1934.³

     Oswald was born in 1872 at Accomack Co, VA. He was the son of Lloyd K. Mears and Mahala Jane Taylor. He married Mary Susan 'Mollie' Byrd on 4 November 1896 at Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.² Oswald was living in 1907 at Bloomtown, VA.³ Oswald died in 1959.⁴

     Edward was born circa 1880. Edward was living in 1934 at Gloucester, VA.¹

     Bronzie was born circa 1898.² Bronzie was living in 1920 at Poulson, Acc Co, VA.² He married Vera B. Furniss on 17 October 1920 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD.²

     Willard was born circa 1890. He was the son of J.H. Truitt. He married Henry West circa 1910.² Willard was living in 1959 at Craddockville, Acc Co, VA.³

     Mr. & Mrs. Elwood Furniss of Saxis announces the marriage of their daughter, Miss Myrtle Furniss, to Mr. John Tom Turlington, son of Mr. & Mrs. John Ray Turlington of Wachapreague, at Snow Hill by Rev. E.R. Shields. They will reside in Wachapreague (E.S. News, 19 Jan 1940). Mrs. Myrtle Furniss Turlington, a resident of Hampton for 51 years, died on 21 Mar 1993, aged 71 years. Survivors were listed (E.S. News, 27 Mar 1993). Myrtle was born in 1922.² She was the daughter of Charles Elwood Furniss and Virginia 'Virgie' M. West. Myrtle was living after 1942 at Hampton, VA.³ Myrtle died on 21 March 1993.²

     Henry was born circa 1890. She was the daughter of Edwin N. West and Ida A. Mason. She married Willard Truitt circa 1910.² Henry was living in 1940.¹

     Charles was born circa 1916.² He was the son of Charles Elwood Furniss and Virginia 'Virgie' M. West. He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1920 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² Charles died on 28 November 1949 at Richmond, VA.¹

     John was born on 15 September 1877 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Raymond R. Lewis Sr. and Susan Elizabeth Parks. John was listed with his parents in the census of in 1880 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as John A. Lewis, a 2 year old son in HH#248 headed by Raymond Lewis, a 43 year old sailor and his wife Susan, age 35..² He married Effie E. Broadwater on 26 December 1900 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA. Mr. John A. Lewis and Miss Effie E. Broadwater were married on Wednesday, 26 Dec 1900, at Sanford by Rev. Charles Clement (Pen. Ent., 5 Jan 1901)..³ John was living in 1901.⁴ John died on 31 January 1938 at Washington, DC, at age 60. Mr. John A. Lewis of Washington died on 31 Jan 1938 in Mercy Hospital, aged 60 years. Services were at Gawler's Funeral Home and his remains were brought to Hallwood, the home of his sister, Mrs. Alice Chase, where an additional service was performed by Rev. R.F. Loss. Interment was in Downing's Cemetery (E.S. News, 4 Feb 1938)..⁵ His body was interred at Downing's Cem, Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.⁶

     Mark was born circa 1818 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of John (of J.) Parks and Tabitha (159) Young. He married Elizabeth W. Thornton on 27 December 1836 at Accomack Co, VA. James Wessells was the security on the M.L.B. of Mark Parks of John and Elizabeth Thornton of Laura..³ Mark was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1850 at Jobs Island, Acc Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Mark Parks the head of HH#1178, a 32 year old farmer. Listed with him were the following Parks: Elizabeth, age 30; Laura, age 12; John, age 10; Augustus, age 8; Elizabeth S., age 6; Arintha J., age 4; and Francis W., age 2. A margin note on the original census showed this as Job's Island..² He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.⁴ Mark died on 10 October 1901 at Messongo, Acc Co, VA. Mr. Mark Parks died at his home on Messongo on 10 Oct 1901. Survivors were listed including 2 sons and 5 daughters. He was also the father of a son, John Parks, who was killed in the Civil War (Pen.      Indianna was born on 23 August 1857 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Mark Parks and Elizabeth W. Thornton.      Mrs. Cynthia Justice, widow of the late Edward Justice, died at Hopkins on 9 Mar 1939, aged 75 years, and was buried at Sanford. Survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 17 Mar 1939). She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.¹ Cynthia was born circa 1860 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Mark Parks and Elizabeth W. Thornton. She married Edward Thomas Justice in 1894.² Cynthia was living in 1938 at Hopkins, Acc Co, VA.³ Cynthia died on 9 March 1939 at Hopkins, Acc Co, VA.⁴ Her body was interred at Sanford, Acc Co, VA.⁴

     Mathew "Kilman" "Jobs Isld" is listed as a head of household in Acc Parish in the 1800 census, aged over 45. "Jobs Isld" is obviously Jobes Island which is on the southern shoreline entrance to Guilford Creek. In his will written 5 Feb 1805, Mathew Kilmon named a wife Comfort; sons Charles E. and Thomas Kilmon; and daughters Frances Kilmon, Peggy Kilmon, Nancy Parks, Sally Wessels, and Tabbey Taylor. Witnesses were Robert Young and William Kilmon. William Ewell, William Kilmon and Absalom Lewis joined for security for the bond to probate (Acc Co Wills, 1806-1809, p. 162). His common name was Marthey. Mathew was born circa 1750.² He was the son of William Killmon. He married Comfort Ewell circa 1773.³ He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1800 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.² Mathew was living in 1800 at Jobs Island, Acc Parish, Acc Co, VA.² Mathew's will was probated on 29 June 1807 at Accomack Co, VA.⁴ Mathew died in 1807 at Accomack Co, VA.¹

     Comfort Ewell's birth circa 1755, is based on her age in 5 Acc Co census: 1800, (wife of Mathew), aged over 45; as head of household in the following - 1810 aged over 45; 1820 aged over 45; 1830 aged 70-80; and 1840 aged 70-80. The combination of all of these, except the last, indicate that she was born between 1750 and 1755. The last indicates she was born between 1760 and 1770. Since she was not listed in the 1850 Acc Co census, it is assumed she died circa 1845. Comfort was born circa 1755.² She was the daughter of George Hope Ewell and Tabitha (-----). She married Mathew 'Marthey' Killmon circa 1773.³ She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1810 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.² She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1820 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.² She was listed as a resident in the census report in 1830 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.⁴ Comfort died circa 1845 at Accomack Co, VA.⁵

     Edmund was born circa 1770 at Northampton Co, VA. He was the son of Devorax (177) Godwin and Esther (76) Bayly. He married Anne Gray 'Nancy' Godwin on 23 October 1797 at Northampton Co, VA.² Edmund died in 1835 at Accomack Co, VA. Edmund's will was probated on 30 March 1835 at Accomack Co, VA.³

     Anne was born circa 1777 at Northampton Co, VA. She was the daughter of Archibald (421) Godwin and Vianna Gray Pitts. She married Edmund Godwin on 23 October 1797 at Northampton Co, VA.²
