     Burlyss Payne was living at Horsey at the time of his mother's death in 1950 (Pen. Ent., 14 Apr 1950). Conflicting evidence states that Burlyss was born in 1877.² Burlyss was born on 30 January 1879 at Newark, Worcester Co, MD.³ He was the son of George W. Payne and Margaret M. 'Maggie' Coleburn.
