     Mr. Carlton Byrd, son of Mr. & Mrs. Orris Byrd of Accomac, and Miss Virginia Powell, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Percy Powell of Wachapreague, were married at Pocomoke City, MD, on 27 May 1937 and are now residing at Keller with Mr. & Mrs. Preston Byrd (E.S. News, 18 Jun 1937). Carlton was born on 23 September 1918 at Belinda, Acc Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Orris Walter Byrd and Lealier Nancy 'Lee' Taylor. Carlton was living in 1937 at Accomac, Acc Co, VA.² Carlton died on 25 August 1952 at age 33.¹

     Mr. Clarence Alva Byrd Sr., aged 70 years, husband of Thelma Louise Byrd, died 1 Feb 1994. He was a resident of Ft. Myers, FL, for the last 15 years. He was born and reared in Keller and was a US Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Funeral services were at Fox's in Temperanceville with interment in the Wessells Cemetery. Survivors included his wife, 3 children and 4 sisters, all of who were listed, and 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren (E.S. News, 9 Feb 1994). Clarence was a member of the armed forces serving at US Army, WWII.² Clarence was born on 17 November 1923 at Hallwood, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of Orris Walter Byrd and Lealier Nancy 'Lee' Taylor.
