Anna was born in June 1889 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Noah A. Miles Sr. and Mary Elizabeth 'Bett' Drummond. She married John M. Ryan circa 1910.² Anna was living in 1945 at Norfolk, VA.³ Anna died in 1969.⁴ Her body was interred at Drummond Cem, Flag Pond Rd, Sanford, Acc Co, VA.⁴

     John was born on 19 August 1889.¹ He married Anna F. 'Annie' Miles circa 1910.² John died on 29 December 1924 at age 35.¹ His body was interred at Flagpond Rd, Sanford, Acc Co, VA.¹

     Upshur was born on 15 January 1896 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Noah A. Miles Sr. and Mary Elizabeth 'Bett' Drummond. Upshur died before 1937.²

     Carrie was born on 1 April 1874 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Noah E. Miles and Mary A. Linton. Carrie died on 12 June 1875 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA, at age 1. Her death record shows she died of bilious dysentery on 1 Jun 1874 at the age of 1 year and 6 months, the child of Noah & Mary Miles with the father giving the information..¹ Her body was interred at Miles South Cem, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹

She had resided in Norfolk for 10 years, at 1539 East Princess Anne Road. She was a member of the Saxis Methodist Church. Funeral services were at the Holloman-Brown Funeral Home with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery (E.S. News, 9 Jul 1937).      The infant child, "Dennard" Fletcher Evans of Saxes' Island, died last Wednesday, 12 Aug 1885, of cholera infantum (Pen. Ent., 15 Aug 1885). He was listed as "Donald" F. on his Acc birth record and as "Donell" F. on his tombstone. Donald was born on 1 September 1884 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ He was the son of William L. 'Bill' Evans and Sarah Ann Evin Miles. Donald died on 12 August 1885 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA, at age 0.² His body was interred at Miles South Cem, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.³

     Lee was born in 1900 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of Joseph Ashton Rhodes and Mary Evelyn 'Maine' Miles.      Mr. Owen Marshall is now a member of the Military Police, Fort Riley, KS. He was drafted 19 Nov 1942 and sent to Camp Lee, from Camp Lee he was transferred to Fort Riley. He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. John D. Marshall of Saxis (Pen. Ent., 15 Jan 1943). Owen was living at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² Owen was born circa 1921 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of John Dave Marshall and Carrie 'Sis' Lewis. Owen was a member of the armed forces in January 1943 serving at US Army, Military Police, Ft. Riley, KS.¹

     Edward was born circa 1948. He was the son of Herbert Staples Wessells and Agatha Lee Evans. Edward was named in his father's obituary in 1992. He was living in Oak Hall.. Edward died on 28 June 1996.

     Joseph was born circa 1909 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Joseph Ashton Rhodes and Mary Evelyn 'Maine' Miles. Ent., 30 Jan 1964). Laura was born circa 1912.² She was the daughter of William Washington Fisher Jr. and Laura 'Eva' Collins. Laura was living in 1930 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA.² She married Joseph Weston 'Jody' Rhodes on 6 September 1930 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD.² Laura died in March 1995.

     Miss Barbara Mae Rhodes, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Jody Rhodes, was married to Mr. George Seward Weaver, son of Mr. & Mrs. Garland Weaver of Saxis, on 25 Nov 1950 at the home of the bride's parents at Grotons, VA, by the Rev. James C. Weaver (Pen. Ent., 8 Dec 1950). Barbara was born circa 1932 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Weston 'Jody' Rhodes and Laura Essie Fisher. Barbara was living in 1950 at Grotons, Acc Co, VA.¹ Barbara died on 15 February 1982 at Palatka, FL.² Her body was interred at Palatka Memorial, Gardens, Palatka, FL.²

     Millie was born. She married Joseph Weston 'Jody' Rhodes circa 1960.²

     Mr. Marcie Rhodes and bride have returned home (Saxis) from Wilmington (Pen. Ent., 10 Nov 1928). Mr. Marcie W. Rhodes died at Saxis of typhoid fever on 2 Aug 1936, survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 8 Aug 1936). Marcie was born in 1903 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of Joseph Ashton Rhodes and Mary Evelyn 'Maine' Miles.      Mrs. Elza Bowers Rhodes, aged 33 years and wife of Marcie W. Rhodes, died on 2 Aug 1936 at Saxis of typhoid fever. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Fulcher and Hasting at the Saxis Methodist Church, where she was a member, with burial in the Ellis Cemetery. Survivors included a husband, mother, 1 sister, amd 5 brothers (E.S. News, 7 Aug 1936). The obituary listed the husband's mother, sister and brothers and not those of the deceased. Elizabeth was born in 1903 at Wilmington, New Castle Co, DE.¹ She married Marcie William Rhodes in November 1928.^2,3 Elizabeth was living in 1936 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.⁴ Elizabeth died on 2 August 1936 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ Her body was interred at Ellis Cem, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹

     Clifford was born on 30 December 1946 at NAM Hospital, Nassawadox, N'hamp Co, VA.² Clifford was living in 1951 at Saxis, Acc Co, VA.¹ Clifford was a member of the armed forces in 1966 serving at US Army, PFC TRP A 12, Cave Cov Div, (AM)Vietnam.² Clifford died on 17 May 1966 at Vietnam at age 19.² His body was interred at Ellis Cem, Saxis, Acc Co, VA.²

     Elmer Lee Trader lived just west of Sanford on Saxis road where chicken houses are today. He was very good with wild animals, they would often eat from his hands. Elmer was employed at as a Oysterman. Elmer was born in 1887 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of William Henry Trader and Virginia E. Marshall.
