George was born circa 1760 at Accomack Co, VA. He was the son of Smith Bunting and Anne (130) West. George was named in his father's will on 6 May 1770 at Accomack Co, VA. He was shown as a son George Bunting in the will of Smith Bunting, wife Eleshe..2 He made a will on 14 September 1831 at Accomack Co, VA. To my nephew Custis Bull & his 8 children $200. To my nephew Southey Bull & his 5 children $160. To my niece Sophiah Gardner & her children $100. To the 3 children of Richard Addison by his first wife (I think Seymour) £10 each. To the children of Smith Bunting (Back River) by his first wife £10 each. To William R. Bunting £5 & claims I have against him. To William R. Bunting's 4 children $25 each. To Ann & Betsey Melson, children of Robinson Melson by his wife Susey, $30 each. To the widow of Zadock Poulson & his children the property I purchased at the sale of Zadock's property made by Nehemiah Stockley. To Hessy Belote, wife of Charles Belote, $25. To Margaret A. & Mary Poulson, children of John Poulson, £10 each. To Betsey Melson, wife of James Melson, $50 & ... To Eliza James, wife of Levin James, £5. To Margaret Kellam, wife of Charles Kellam, £5. To Polly Watson, Anna Bloxom & George Poulson £10 each. To the 2 children of James Bull of Bagwell $25 each. To Peggy, Nancy, Sophiah , George & Thomas Hargis $10 each. To the children of my nephew George Bull £5 each. To John Poulson, son of John, £10 & ... To Richard Bloxom ... My house & lot in Onancock Town to be sold & the money together with the balance of my personal estate to my brothers' & sisters' children. Charles Belote & Levin James Extrs. Witt: Henry P. Parker. Prob: John Bull, John Mason & John Hargis, who are part of the distributees appeared & opposed the will. The witness, Henry P. Parker, who proved the will noted that the testator said that one or two of his legatees were of bad conduct & if he were to do it over again he would not give them anything & on the issue of it being necessary to have 2 witnesses, the testator said he would have it witnessed by Dr. Satchell. The witness also believed that there had been other wills in the house, but no other will was witnessed by Parker. It was also proved by John Finney, that he wrote the will except the date & that it was changed several times … An erasure of a legacy was made by the witness … Also proved by William M. Riley who saw the testator only 2 or 3 hours before his death & asked him if he had a will & he answered yes & it was written by Col. John Finney & witnessed by Henry P. Parker & that he had given Custis & Southey Bull more than any of his relations & upon being asked if he did not intend to do something for the children of Zadock Poulson, he said he had bought their father's property & given it to them & that was all he intended to give them. It was also proved by Levin S. Joynes that early in Aug 1831 he was sent for by the testator to write his will, but he did not do it … It was also proved by John J. Wise that on the Saturday before his death he was sent for to write his will, but could not then go, but went to visit a few days before his death & the testator expressed his dissatisfaction with the will Col. Finney had written & it was also proven by John G. Joynes that about the middle of Sep 1831 the testator told him he was dissatisfied with the will Finney had written & he intended to have it altered & the testator was liable to have his mind change relative to the disposition of his estate by idle stories told to him about his relatives, which were frequently told to him in sport ... It was also proved by Samuel C. White that he was called upon to witness a will by Bunting, but he could not say whether the signature of Bunting on the will before the court was the proper handwriting of Bunting or not. It was also proved by James Carmine that he saw Bunting everyday for several days before his death & he does not believe that he was in his senses more than half his time & that the "George" part of the signature was in the proper handwriting, but the "Bunting" was not. Smith Warrington also proved that the testator told him 2 or 3 weeks before his death that he was not satisfied with his will & should never get one that he would be satisfied with. It was also proved by Henry P. Parker, who dated the will, that it was written by John Finney. It was also proved by Levin S. Joynes that the testator was in the habit of signing his name "Georg" instead of "George." Charles Belote & Levin James, the named Extrs, gave bond with W. P. Moore & John A. Edwards their securities..3 George died on 18 May 1832 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that his estate was probated..1 George estate was settled on 16 November 1835 at Accomack Co, VA. 20 Nov 1834 (Audit), 7 Apr 1835 (1st Rec'd), 16 Nov 1835 (2nd Rec'd) - Charles Belote & Levin James Extrs. Paid Comfort Snead for nursing & Dr. S. Satchell & Vespasian Ellis for advice & H. P. Parker, John Finney & William M. Riley to prove the will. Property was in Zadock Poulson's possession.
