John Done was an attorney of Worcester Co, MD, of which he was sheriff, 1773-75, representative in 4 of the Maryland conventions, 1774-76, clerk, 1777, and member of the convention to ratify the Constitution, 1789, of Somerset Co, MD, for which he was twice elected to the Assembly, 1780-83, but did not attend, was colonel of the Princess Anne Battalion, 1781, and vestryman of Somerset Parish, 1791-1809, and later of Annapolis, MD, where he was judge of the General Court, 1799-1805, associate judge of the Fourth District, 1806-12, and judge of the Court of Appeals, 1812-14. His common name was John. John was born in 1747 at Somerset Co, MD.1 He was the son of John Done and Sarah (51) Waters.
