Robert Richardson

Robert was born circa 1635. He married Susan (3) Smith on 5 April 1666.1 Robert patented land on 5 April 1666 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Robert Richardson patented 500 acres in Accomack County adjoining 450 acres at the head of Occahannock Creek that was formerly Richard Smith's, "now in the possession of the said Robert." He was issued a patent, 9 Nov 1666 for 2,000 acres near Bockanoctun and when it was discovered the land was in Maryland he secured a new patent for this land, "Mount Ephraim," in Bogerternorton Hundred, Somerset Co, MD, 20 Dec 1675. On 13 Jun 1671 he proved rights for 550 acres for transporting himself, his wife Susan, son William, daughters Elizabeth, Susan and Tobia [Tabitha], and four servants from Virginia into Maryland..1 Robert sold land on 23 October 1668 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that Robert Richardson sold to Devorax Browne and Thomas Bowles 50 acres, being part of the 200 acres of land formerly granted to Richard Smith by patent of 18 Nov 1618 and by him given to Susanna, his daughter, now wife of said Robert. Suan Richardson joined in the deed..1 Robert died in September 1682 at Somerset Co, MD.1 His body was interred on 10 September 1682 at Mount Ephraim, Som Co, MD.1
