     Thomas was born in 1856 at Somerset Co, MD. He was the son of James Lewis Smith and Sarah 'Sally' Marshall. He married Julia A. Jones on 17 May 1876.¹ Thomas died in 1933.¹

     Julia was born in 1854. She married Thomas Theodore Smith on 17 May 1876.¹ Julia died in 1933.¹

It was on this date that Nathan Linton Senior paid William Broughten, Mary Marshall, Jan Marshall, William Marshall and Thomas Marshall of Somerset Co 127 pounds for land on Saxis Island bounded southerly by Benjamin Marshall, by Thomas Fletcher, the freeschool marsh, to a tree at the north end of Saxis Island on Pokomoke Sound.
