     James was born circa 1675. He married Mary Huitt circa 1703 at Northampton Co, VA.¹ He married Elizabeth Marshall circa 1735. Whitelaw suspects James may have married Margaret Turner, widow of Edward Turner d. 1729. Edward's son, George Nicholas Turner deeded in 1738 to James Fairfax, land at N109 for his lifetime.      William was born circa 1695. He was the son of Henry Stakes. William witnessed a will on 19 November 1713 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that William Stakes and others witnessed the will of George Marshall. He evidently married George's daughter Rachel after this date, as Rachel was shown as Rachel Marshall in this will..² William was named as administrator of an estate on 20 March 1716 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that William Stackes was named to settle the estate of William Marshall. Appraisers were Luke Laylor, Thomas Johnson, Joseph Smith and John James..³ He married Rachel Marshall circa 1720.⁴ William died in 1732. He made a will in Northampton Co., VA, April 27, 1732. William bought N105 from Isaac Marshall, Rachel's cousin, in 1723. Thomas and Patience Marshall, Isaac Marshall's brother and his wife, made a deed of gift to Rachel's sons in 1743 of N60. To son William, who is now beyond Sea & has been for the space of 4 years now last past, if he should be living & return to Northampton, my plantation in Neswaddes Neck in Northampton County containing 176 acres, together with the water grist mill upon it for life, reversion to my son Solomon Bunting & his heir of the name of Solomon, but should he not have an heir of that name, then after the death of my son Solomon I give the said plantation & mill to the heir of my son William of the name of Solomon, & if he have no heir of that name then to the heir of my son Holloway by the name of Solomon, & should he have no heir of that name then to the heir of my son Jonathan by the name of Solomon, & if he should have no heir of that name then to the male heir of my body forever.
