Adah was born circa 1785 at Accomack Co, VA. She was the daughter of Covington Mears and Nancy (205) Roberts. She married William Smith on 14 May 1804 at Accomack Co, VA. William J. Roberts was the security on the M.L.B. of William Smith and Adah Mears. According to Whitelaw in 1805 Adah Mears and her husband William Smith sold 58 acres each to Isaac Melson and Alexander Morrison. The former was the western half and was not traced further. For a long time the Morrison part was called Morrison's Hill. No disposition by him could be found, and in some way it becamed owned by an Abel Mears and after his death the rest of the heirs in 1840 united in a deed to a son Abel. A deed in 1867 from Abel Mears called it Red Hill..2
William Smith

William was born circa 1780 at Accomack Co, VA. He married Adah Mears on 14 May 1804 at Accomack Co, VA. William J. Roberts was the security on the M.L.B. of William Smith and Adah Mears. According to Whitelaw in 1805 Adah Mears and her husband William Smith sold 58 acres each to Isaac Melson and Alexander Morrison. The former was the western half and was not traced further.
