He married Ellen 'Ella' Broadwater on 27 July 1846.^1,3 James was listed as a head of household in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as James H. Corbin the head of HH#570, a 33 year old sailor with real estate valued at $800. Listed with him were Ellen Corbin, age 22; Medora Corbin, age 3; James W. Corbin, age 1; William R. Downing, a 22 year old sailor; and Afred Smith, age 13..⁴ James was living in 1858 at Jenkins Bridge, Acc Co, VA.⁵ He was listed as a resident in the census report in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA.⁶ James died on 3 March 1890 at age 72.² His body was interred at Corbin Cem, East of Sanford, Acc Co, VA.²

     She was shown as "Hellen" Corbin on her son, Covington Corbin's, Acc birth record. Mrs. Ellen Corbin of near Sanford in upper Accomack Co died recently at the age of about 75 years (E.S. Hearld, 3 Mar 1911). Ellen was born on 26 September 1828 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Walter J. Broadwater Jr. and Mary Lee 'Polly' Burton.      James was born on 25 February 1883 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Covington V. 'Covey' Corbin and Annie Lee Hall. Conflicting evidence states that James was born on 25 February 1884 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA.² He married Nellie Florence Middleton on 18 November 1906 at MD/VA Line.³ He married Marion Marie Picken circa 1920.^4,5 James died on 8 March 1940 at Townsend, Northampton Co, VA, at age 57.² His body was interred at Downing's Cem, Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.⁶

     Mrs. Nellie Corbin died at her home near Pocomoke City of pneumonia following Spanish influenza on Tuesday, 6 Jan 1919, and was brought home (Sanford) for burial in the Corbin Cemetery, Friday (Acc News, 10 Jan 1919). Evidently she was moved later, as she is now in Downing's Cemetery. Nellie was born on 24 February 1889 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of John Emory Middleton and Emma A. 'Emily' Collins. Nellie was living in 1906 at Sanford, Acc Co, VA.² She married James Covington 'Cubby' Corbin on 18 November 1906 at MD/VA Line.² Nellie died on 31 December 1918 at Pocomoke City, Worcester Co, MD, at age 29.¹ Conflicting evidence states that she died on 1 January 1919.³ Her body was interred at Downing's Cem, Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.³

     Walter was born on 7 April 1891 at Belinda, Acc Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Spencer Douglas Hall and Mary Lee Broadwater. Walter was on the in 1900 roll of the at Meth Ch, Sanford, Acc Co, VA.² He was baptized on 26 July 1903.² He married Thalia (-----) circa 1920 at Greece.³

     Leonard was born on 1 September 1899 at Belinda, Acc Co, VA.² He was the son of Spencer Douglas Hall and Mary Lee Broadwater. Leonard was a member of the armed forces serving at US Marines, WWI.² He married Mildred Rew Taylor on 19 September 1923 at Onancock, Acc Co, VA. He was a 24 year old electrician and she was age 25. He was living in Baltimore and she was living in Onancock. The family indicates that she was a stenographer..³ Leonard was living in 1972 at Onancock, Acc Co, VA.² Leonard died in 1977.⁴ His body was interred at Mt. Holly Cem, Onancock, Acc Co, VA.⁴

     Her common name was Etta. Henrietta was born on 7 January 1893 at Belinda, Acc Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Spencer Douglas Hall and Mary Lee Broadwater. She married (-----) Phillips circa 1920.² She married William Edward Burke on 29 May 1926 at Ballston, VA.² Henrietta was living in 1972 at Onancock, Acc Co, VA.³

     Emma was born circa 1855 at Accomack Co, VA.^1,2 She was the daughter of Shadrack Taylor and Nancy Chesser. Emma was listed with her parents in the census of in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Emma J. Taylor, age 5 in HH#157 headed by Shadrack D. Taylor, a 34 year old farmer..² She married Santa Anna Hall Sr. on 3 March 1880 at Modest Town, Acc Co, VA. He was a 38 year old widowed farmer and she was age 23. They were married by J. W. Hundley..³ Emma died on 3 December 1893 at First District, Acc Co, VA. She died of a brain fever at the age of 38. She was the child of Shadrack and Nancy and the wife of Santa Anna Hall. Her son R.L. Hall gave the information..¹

     Emma was born in 1871.¹ She married Santa Anna Hall Sr. circa 1900.^1,2 Emma died in 1950.¹ Her body was interred at Nelson's Cem, MD-VA line, Acc Co, VA.¹

     Clara was born circa 1864 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of Santa Anna Hall Sr. and Elizabeth J. 'Betsy' Wessells. Clara was listed with her parents in the census of in 1870 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. She was shown as Clara Hall, age 5..³ She married William J. 'Willie' Holland on 25 February 1880 at Temperanceville, Acc Co, VA. He was a 23 year old oysterman and she was age 16. They were married by Montcalm Oldham..² Clara was living in 1938 at Assawoman, Acc Co, VA.¹

     Mr. & Mrs. Santa Hall of near Hallwood will celebrate their 53rd wedding anniversary on 29 Dec 1948. Santa Hall and Miss Elle F. Bunting, both of near Temperanceville were married at the Baptist Parsonage at Mappsville on 29 Dec 1895 by the Rev. J.L. King (Pen. Ent., 26 Nov 1948). Mr. Santa Anna Hall of Hallwood died on 25 Jan 1958, aged 84 years. He was the son of Santa and Anna Drummond Hall. He was a member of the Makemie Park Baptist Church. Survivors were listed inclulding 9 unnamed grandchildren (Pen. Ent., 30 Jan 1958). Contrary to the obituary, he was the son of Santa Anna (Sr.) and Elizabeth J. Wessells Hall. Santa was born on 2 December 1874 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of Santa Anna Hall Sr. and Elizabeth J. 'Betsy' Wessells. He married Mary Ella F.      Ben was born on 8 December 1881 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Santa Anna Hall Sr. and Emma J. Taylor. He married Clara F. Bayly on 4 January 1903 at Accomack Co, VA.      Mr. James Alfred Hall of New Church died in Memorial Hospital on 11 Oct 1959, aged 76 years. He was the son of Santa and Emma Hall, born 6 Aug 1883. Survivors were listed (Pen. Ent., 15 Oct 1959). Contrary to this obituary, his Acc birth record shows 22 Dec 1883. James was born on 22 December 1883 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Santa Anna Hall Sr. and Emma J.      Miss Lillie Mae Hall, niece of Mr. & Mrs. William Stevenson of Jenkins Bridge, and Mr. Fred R. Tull of New Church, were married on 15 Dec 1920 at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Howard King, Grasonville, MD, by Rev. E.W. Simms of Harpers Ferry, WVA. They will reside at New Church, VA (Acc News, 24 Dec 1920). Lillie was born on 20 April 1889 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She was the daughter of Santa Anna Hall Sr. and Emma J. Taylor. She married Fred R. Tull on 15 December 1920 at Grasonville, MD.² Lillie was living in 1938 at Miona, Acc Co, VA.¹ Her body was interred at Downing's Cem, Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.³

     This William Henry Hall, reported to be a son of Santa A. Hall by Jane Kahler, was not listed as such in Santa's 1928 obituary. His common name was Willie. William was born on 25 November 1893 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ He was the son of Santa Anna Hall Sr. and Emma J. Taylor. He married Gertrude Elizabeth Hudson in 1913.² William was living in 1938.¹ William died on 20 January 1946 at Philadelphia, PA, at age 52.¹

     Mary was born on 2 October 1874 at Accomack Co, VA.² She was the daughter of George William Bunting and Mary Ann West. She married Santa Anna Hall Jr. on 29 December 1895 at Mappsville, Acc Co, VA. He was a 23 year old farmer and she was age 22. They were married by J.L. King..¹ Mary died on 12 July 1950 at Hallwood, Acc Co, VA, at age 75. Mrs. Ella Bunting Hall, wife of Santa Hall, of Hallwood, died on 12 Jul 1950, aged 75 years. Hall on 8 July 1896 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ She married Henry Jackson Davis on 26 December 1906 at Accomack Co, VA.¹ Annie died on 22 July 1932 at age 55.² Her body was interred at Bethel Bapt Ch Cem, Mears, Acc Co, VA.²

     Fred was a member of the armed forces serving at US Army, PFC, World War I.¹ Fred was born on 27 January 1887.¹ He married Lillie Mae Hall on 15 December 1920 at Grasonville, MD.² Fred died on 20 October 1973 at age 86.¹ His body was interred at Downing's Cem, Oak Hall, Acc Co, VA.¹

     Gertrude was born on 11 March 1897.¹ She was the daughter of Lenard Hudson and Mary Richard. She married William Henry 'Willie' Hall in 1913.² Gertrude died on 2 January 1943 at Philadelphia, PA, at age 45.¹

Anna was born on 28 February 1923 at Makemie Park, Acc Co, VA. She was the daughter of Roger Baron Hall and Genivia Corbin. Anna died on 18 March 1972 at age 49. Her body was interred at Pennsylvania.
