Henry Jackson

M, b. circa 1760, d. after 1830
     Henry was born circa 1760 at Orange Co, NC. He married Sarah Mapp circa 1780.1 Henry served in the Revolutionary War in in 1783 at Georgia. Recognized by DAR as a Private in the GA Troops in the Rev War. His application for bounty land in Washington Co. included certification by Col. Greenberry Lee that he had served in the 2nd Battallion (Upper Regiment), 2nd Regiment - a unit that had been led by Colonels Benjamin Few, William Few, Greenbury Lee, and his father Major Isaac Jackson. During the War, he lived in Wrightsboro. In 1799, he held the rank of Lieutenant in the GA militia. A full inventory of his estate in 1830 is available. He owned and probably won a 202.5-acre lot in Monroe Co. in the land lottery of 1821, as well as 150 acres on Shoulderbone Creek, Hancock, Co. The census for Hancock Co. in 1830 shows 7 white males, 6 white females, 10 black males, and 10 black females in his household, for a total of 33 persons..2 Henry died after 1830 at Hancock Co, GA.
