To wife Margaret the 4 slaves which were hers before our marriage, also the use of the plantation where I now live during her widow. To my son Levin Joyne plantation where I now live.      Charles was born circa 1710 at Accomack Co, VA. Charles sold land in 1764 at Hunting Creek, Acc Co, VA. It was in this year that Charles Courtney sold 100 acres to Abraham Turner, who had married his daughter Mary Anne. Four years later, Turner died and left the land to his wife for life and then it was to be divided among all of her children. The widow then married Major Rayfield, by whom she had other children..1 He made a will on 31 October 1764 at Accomack Co, VA. To William Rolley 50 acres at the head of my land adjcent Thomas Baleys land. Tabitha Rolley to have use of same during her life. To Garthery Taylor, daughter of Jacob Taylor the remaining 50 acres of my land. James Rolley's 5 children & Jacob Taylor's children residual legatees. Thomas Riley Exr. Witt: Jacob Ayers, James Rolley, Marey Turner..2 Charles died in November 1764.2 Charles's will was probated on 27 November 1764 at Accomack Co, VA. Abraham Turner, who intermarried with Mary, heir at law to the testator, being present & having nothing to object, said will admitted to probate..2
