     Thomas was born circa 1886 at Accomack Co, VA.² He was the son of William Carol 'Columbus' Thornes and Malissa Thornes. He married Delia Randolph Taylor circa 1930.¹ Garland died on 17 April 1968 at Bloxom, Acc Co, VA, at age 69. Mr. Garland Dewey Annis died at this home in Bloxom of 17 Apr 1968. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Delia Annis; two daughters, Mrs. Viola Miles, Mrs. Ella Mae Smullin; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Young, Mrs. Velma Phillips; three brothers, Howard Annis, Lem Annis.
