In the Acc Birth Records from 1862-1891, the parents name of several unnamed Hall children is given as Anthony L. Jr. and Sally E. It is assumed that this is Anthony Lamb Hall, the s/o Thomas Spencer Hall, Jr. and his wife Sally Elizabeth Byrd. Evidently he used the Jr. designation since he was younger than his uncle Anthony L. Hall, Sr. It becomes confusing because his uncle had a son who was named Anthony L. Hall, Jr. They can be distinguished in this report because one has the middle name of Lamb spelled out and the other only uses the middle initial "L." Anthony was born on 18 July 1842 at Accomack Co, VA. His tombstone shows 1841..2 He was the son of Thomas Spencer Hall Jr. and Sarah Elizabeth 'Sallie' Drummond. Anthony was listed with his parents in the census of in 1850 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Anthony Hall, age 8 in HH#998 headed by Thomas Hall, a 35 year old farmer..3 Anthony was listed with his parents in the census of in 1860 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Anthony L. Hall, age 16 in HH#264 headed by Thomas Hall Jr., age 47 and farming..4 Anthony was a member of the armed forces serving at Civil War.5 He married (-----) Messick circa 1865.6 He married (-----) Fitchett circa 1868.6 Anthony was listed with his parents in the census of in 1870 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was shown as Anthony Hall, a 28 year old farm laborer..7 Anthony was listed with his parents in the census of in 1870 at Accomack Parish, Acc Co, VA. He was a 28 year old farm laborer in HH#AT470, headed by his father Thomas Hall, age 57..7 He married Elizabeth T. Gladding on 25 January 1871 at Accomack Co, VA. He was a 28 year old widowed farmer and she was age 26 and also widowed. They were married by O. Littleton..8 He married Sarah Elizabeth 'Sallie' Byrd on 24 October 1877 at Atlantic, Acc Co, VA. He was a 35 year old widowed farmer and she was age 25 and single. They were married at the Methodist Parsonage by C. C. Wertenbaker..8 Anthony died on 28 August 1930 at age 88. Mr. Anthony L. Hall, a Civil War Veteran of Withams, died on 28 Aug 1930, aged 88 years. He enlisted in the Conferate Army in 1861 and was in the Battles of Petersburg, Seven Pines, and Deepbottom. The funeral was at Downing Church by the Reverand Wade H. Flecther. Survivors were listed, including two sisters (E.S. News, 29 Aug 1930)..9 His body was interred at J.W.
